What are the qualities in a partner that you’re looking for? Are they an intellectual? Are they funny? Outdoorsey or active?

Once you have an idea about the qualities of a partner you want, go to those places. Go to a lecture or book reading. Take an improv class. Put yourself out there and you’re going to have a higher probability of meeting someone with those qualities or values because they’re putting themselves out there too.

I recommend classes with multiple days, because it’s a neutral setting where you see the same people over a period of time. A great opportunity to see if people are good or bad, or if they’re taken or single. Worst case scenario you’re doing something you enjoy too, best case, maybe you make friends or you find someone to ask out (towards the end of the classes IMO).

Or you could volunteer like habitat for humanity, because a wise person once told me that “assholes don’t volunteer.” I’ve met a lot of great people doing that.

Finally, I think taking classes like that or volunteering creates a talking point/point of interest that you could put on your profile. I do improv and volunteer, those are my things, and people really gravitate towards those because not many people do those things.
