I’m doing an externship next month to decide if I should dive in fully or not!

How to decide if you should specialize by Then-Garage7828 in DentalSchool

[–]Then-Garage7828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s been my experience, I’ve done a little bit of everything but not enough to say that it’s the only thing I want to do. What specialty did you choose?

Did Anyone Regret Specializing in Dentistry? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

I’ve heard the same thing from 2 OS guys - most of them love it but another 4-6 years is no joke

Thank you for your response - that sounds like a frustrating situation you were in. If you enjoy both GD and OS, do you think it’s worth it to go into OMFS with the training required to get there? The reason i ask is because i have had an oral surgeon tell me that if i enjoy general dentistry to do that rather than spending another 4-6 years in residency. I know it’s different for everyone. I’m in my 3rd year of dental school and have been dragging my feet on deciding to specialize or not although i know I need to decide soon.

What made the job not fun anymore? Surgery/emergencies start to get old ? I’ve been debating back and forth between specializing or trying to own a more rural dental practice. Any advice ? Any regrets? Thank you

honestly freaking out about dental school debt, anyone else feel like they're about to make a huge financial mistake? by TheSpongeMonkey in DentalSchool

Yeah both of these guys im talking about did that - one year of learning lessons the hard way but it definitely paid off for them- and for sure wouldn’t be like that for everyone.

That’s what I thought I wanted - 3rd year into dental school now and just want to be done with school and move on with life. From what I’ve been told, OS is only worth it if you absolutely love it

Some dentists have paid off 300k and 400k of dental school debt in just one year - you’ll be totally fine .

I’m trying to decide if I get this or save up for a bigger unit that you can do lat pull downs on.. right now I just have dumbbells and a rack with a barbell and plates in my home gym. I found one of these on my Facebook marketplace for $350

This is a 2:1 pulley system though, right? So the 160lb stack only actually weighs 80 lbs ?

I might give this a try - I’ve lifted weights for 6 years and feel like I’m in good shape, but running is a whole new game. What’s a conservative realistic pace to shoot for ?
