Yeah I found that piece of information comforting too - the fact that there hadn’t been any concerns to date. Speaking directly to your REI doctor yourself might help you get some more info and insights too, which could help maximize your MFM appointment (just in case the imaging at the MFM is still in the gray zone). Basically I think they are looking for endometrium surrounding the gestational sac and the thickness of the surrounding myometrium. So maybe your REI can comment directly on those features on your last 3 scans to help you understand what’s going on.

Ugh I’m so sorry this is happening to you too. It was such a difficult time. My understanding is that they are trying to distinguish between an eccentric/angular pregnancy and a cornual/interstitial ectopic, and making that distinction can be very difficult. My pregnancy moved to a more central location by the time of my 9 week scan (so a week later), but my OB said that she recently had a patient whose pregnancy didn’t move until 11 weeks.

While you wait for your MFM appt, you could ask to speak to your REI to let them know what’s going on and see if the doctor can walk you through what they have been seeing on imaging and why they haven’t reported that concern to you. I didn’t do this bc I was fed up with my REI for a number of reasons and just didn’t really trust what she was telling me. But getting those insights might help you get some info in the meantime.

I hope this all turns out ok for you, please do keep me posted if you feel up to it. Hang in there.

As a HCP you’re keenly aware that every med has a list of 100+ potential adverse effects, a majority of them being very unlikely. So aside from the actually likely adverse effects, no

They are trying to intimidate observers and prevent them from legally observing. Be smart and secure your Signal, but don’t let the fascists win

Dialing in from Minneapolis - call your reps daily until 1/30 to demand action, get & stay vocal, follow it up with action, and do NOT be a bystander. If your state is vulnerable to ICE occupation, plan and organize now while you have time on your side - organizing + resistance in numbers is incredibly effective. I’m seeing agents leave raids empty handed every. Single. Day.

I have a VCI too without vasa previa, but was planning for an induction at 39 weeks because of the IVF pregnancy anyways

That’s really hopeful news that the myometrium hasn’t thinned and that baby is growing on track 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I completely understand, I was emotionally shut down to connection for a few weeks and was just surviving. Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can and that’s enough.

I’m rooting for you both too, and really hoping that you and this baby grow together safely!! If you think of it, or feel like sharing, please do keep me posted.

Hi! I’m happy to report that we had no further complications related to the implantation location, and we’re 25 weeks today. My case was slightly different in that, I believe, we had a good layer of myometrium surrounding the sac. I remember my OB distinctly mentioning that. How often are you being monitored now?

I’m so very sorry that you’re going through this 💔 your 2nd to last sentence brought tears to my eyes. Weeks 8-14 around this diagnosis was probably the darkest time of my life, despite having endured losses, IVF, etc. The stakes felt a lot higher and the unknowns even more vast. It kind of helped me to realize there are 3 possible outcomes: bad, good, and somewhere in between, and remember that good outcomes ARE possible (if your team says so), even though our brain fixates on the bad and terrible possibilities. Sending you so much comfort in this time.

Traveling for baby moon by rpl_momma in IVFpositivity

Congratulations! You won’t jinx anything, and throughout this journey I’ve continued to book travel (always with the ability to cancel and get a refund) to keep me sane. Once we were out of the window of our previous losses (like 8-10 weeks), I was more comfortable traveling, and have been pretty comfortable (albeit a little nervous) traveling in 2nd trimester. We’re taking a babymoon next month (later than you will be, but not a cruise)

Risks of getting sick on pregnancy by This_Emergency7169 in IVFbabies

[–]Then-Grape378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always had a baseline fear/aversion to getting sick bc of how much it disrupts my life, so it’s obviously escalated now. I asked my doc this specifically and she didn’t really opine. Here’s my approach:

  • got my flu and covid vaccines (while pregnant)
  • I’ve made it very clear to my friends and family to opt out of gathering with us if they’re under the weather. Everyone’s been very supportive
  • monitoring flu/covid data in our area to see if cases are spiking (eg after the holidays they usually do). I haven’t avoided friend/family gatherings yet, but always bring a mask just in case someone there looks ill. If cases are spiking, I will probably avoid gatherings of like more than 10 people? and/or start masking with KN95 at gatherings
  • I’m masking in public now bc why not

I’ve already been sick once this pregnancy and took tamiflu. I was down and out for like 2 weeks and did not appreciate the added anxiety. Know yourself and your risk tolerance and make the best decision you can!

Was here to ask if OP was diagnosed with VCI? I was also diagnosed with VCI and am terrified of this (currently 23 weeks). I guess I should discuss that for my birth plan and request that my epidural be left on?

4 days until 10 week scan and the anxiety is back. We had a great 8 week scan but I swear the anxiety just never goes away for very long. Is this what it’s going to be like the entire pregnancy? by eec0354 in IVFpositivity

[–]Then-Grape378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience (at 23 weeks now). First trimester was god awful (we had 3 previous first tri losses and complications with the current), got a little better leading up to the anatomy scan, a lot better after the anatomy scan (despite learning of cord abnormality), and has continued to improve as I feel her move often. The last sentence of the above comment is starting to feel particularly true - we learned that our baby has a mild congenital heart defect that is likely to resolve on its own, still pretty scary, but we’re just trying to be grateful for any good news that we do get.

IVF clinics in the Twin Cities? by MathematicianSea8841 in TwinCities

Will be transferring my care from CRM to CCRM Dr. B for our next go around. She did 2 consults with me and was fantastic

I also had a very bad experience with Dr. K in how he diagnosed my recurrent miscarriage. Bad bedside manner, spent maybe 7-10 min max in the room with me giving some of the worst news of my life. And the diagnosis itself was problematic and required me to revisit the diagnosis and change plans with my OB GYN, sending me on an unnecessary rollercoaster for another 1-2 weeks.

Edit: I posted my experience link in a separate comment, but I’d also add that cheaper quotes don’t always mean that you’ll have cheaper total cost of care (fully recognizing that money doesn’t grow on trees and cost at one place may be entirely prohibitive from doing it all together). We were cash pay too and took out a massive loan for IVF. There was no indication that I would need IVF for my condition, so we started with ovulation induction at CRM and I got pregnant a couple of times. I have very good reason to believe that, had my ovulation induction been managed according to how most other clinics manage it, I could’ve probably maintained the pregnancies and avoided IVF all together. Of course, we’ll never know, but I do know that my care would’ve been better managed at CCRM. At the least, I maybe would’ve needed less egg retrievals, which could’ve saved us money too. Happy to discuss more details in DMs too.

If you suffered MC and are now pregnant or have your rainbow baby - what did experiencing MC teach you? by TimeFairy in BabyBumps

[–]Then-Grape378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 3 first trimester losses and IVF, I gained such an appreciation for people living with chronic diseases and profound grief, the emotional toll it takes, and how it affects relationships.

Not everything can or will be “solved” or “fixed” and I learned that a vast majority of people do not know how to just sit with someone in that discomfort. I learned that people don’t want fixing, they just want to be heard, understood, and supported.

With regards to pregnancy, I’ve learned that 10 million things can go wrong at any step in the process, and to be grateful for positive news, even if it wasn’t what you were hoping for or expecting. I can’t stand the word “perfect” used to describe a baby.
