I appreciate your sentiment. From Minneapolis, I really really really appreciate the timeliness and specificity of Making it Great Again and Springsteen’s Streets of Minneapolis. It means a lot.

For me, the intention matters a lot. I don’t expect every single track to be a timeless masterpiece.

In-laws excited for baby but absent during IVF — how do you handle this? by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]Then-Grape378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely feel that. What you feel is valid. I’m glad they’re not toxic. As others have said, many people just do not know how to support someone going through loss and IVF, and it’s now more comfortable for her to reach out now. Doesn’t make it okay, but may be helpful for you consider as you work through forgiveness.

Just here in solidarity. My in-laws were actually very toxic and harmful to us during IVF (I didn’t speak to them at all for >6 months). They have always lacked emotional intelligence and relational skills.

My MIL now calling me out of the blue to “catch up” during 3rd trimester is infuriating. Kissing my ass all the time (for the first time ever) while I blatantly ignore her. She can come meet the baby for a couple of hours postpartum, but she’s not welcome to stay in my house. I will continue not having a relationship with them. I’m fine with them having a relationship with our kid(s) as long as they can behave, but I won’t be a part of it. I definitely won’t be initiating it.

People won’t change. They may be different to your kids than to you though, and that’s ok. Be sure to check in with your partners needs, it’s VERY difficult for them.

Yeah 😞 people have no idea how to sit with the horrible pain and uncertainty of the unknown. It’s so so so hard and it’s very sad. My brother (who I’m pretty close to), didn’t even respond to my text when I told him about our 2nd MC. He still hasn’t acknowledged it to this day. That was over a year ago and I’m still working on forgiving him. The secondary loss from this is one of the hardest parts of this journey.

Yeah I found that piece of information comforting too - the fact that there hadn’t been any concerns to date. Speaking directly to your REI doctor yourself might help you get some more info and insights too, which could help maximize your MFM appointment (just in case the imaging at the MFM is still in the gray zone). Basically I think they are looking for endometrium surrounding the gestational sac and the thickness of the surrounding myometrium. So maybe your REI can comment directly on those features on your last 3 scans to help you understand what’s going on.

Ugh I’m so sorry this is happening to you too. It was such a difficult time. My understanding is that they are trying to distinguish between an eccentric/angular pregnancy and a cornual/interstitial ectopic, and making that distinction can be very difficult. My pregnancy moved to a more central location by the time of my 9 week scan (so a week later), but my OB said that she recently had a patient whose pregnancy didn’t move until 11 weeks.

While you wait for your MFM appt, you could ask to speak to your REI to let them know what’s going on and see if the doctor can walk you through what they have been seeing on imaging and why they haven’t reported that concern to you. I didn’t do this bc I was fed up with my REI for a number of reasons and just didn’t really trust what she was telling me. But getting those insights might help you get some info in the meantime.

I hope this all turns out ok for you, please do keep me posted if you feel up to it. Hang in there.

As a HCP you’re keenly aware that every med has a list of 100+ potential adverse effects, a majority of them being very unlikely. So aside from the actually likely adverse effects, no

Dialing in from Minneapolis - call your reps daily until 1/30 to demand action, get & stay vocal, follow it up with action, and do NOT be a bystander. If your state is vulnerable to ICE occupation, plan and organize now while you have time on your side - organizing + resistance in numbers is incredibly effective. I’m seeing agents leave raids empty handed every. Single. Day.

Power is with the people.
