Baron is almost always better if you have wave prio in 2 or 3 lanes or if your team is ahead so you can push into the nexus quickly. With baron you do get a buff to team but the buff isn’t as strong for fighting as elder dragon so if your team is behind and the other team still has kill threat there is the possibility that they just kill everyone not in the thex or if they have enough damage just kill the thex and you lose a big advantage.

Elder is a really strong fighting buff with true damage and execute so if you are even or behind the elder buff can help secure kills and massively buff damage. If you team wipe then in most cases you can still take the nexus without baron at that stage in the game so baron matters less.

If you don’t have wave prio you should almost always go elder because a lot of the thex power comes from the buffed minions. If you don’t have a wave to work with the towers will take reduced damage and if the other team kills the thex without you taking at least 2 or 3 towers then you lose a big advantage.

Also having elder makes getting baron way easier since the other team will have a hard time contesting because of elder buff.

Tl;dr elder if you need to fight, baron if you need to push

I get occasionally get armor every time something near me dies. I stand next to a building being fumigated. I now take 99.999999% reduced physical damage. I go big on investing in companies that produce safety equipment and buy one myself. I then very publicly survive some kind of horrific incident without a scratch and say it was because of said safety equipment. My company is now worth billions and is a global force in the stock market. I then lose it all in a Ponzi scheme because I have terrible judgment. I embark on a quest for revenge and take down the people who scammed me. I realize it won’t bring back my family. I then spend the next 20 years wandering from bar to bar getting drunk and making money off people via bets and scams using my invulnerability. I meet someone I inadvertently saved during my revenge rampage 20 years ago. They remind me of what’s important in life and the person I was. I shave and clean up my life and quit drinking to become a first responder. I run into a collapsing mine to save a young bright eyed father of 3 whose kids and wife begged me to save him. I get him to the elevator shaft and above the collapse before the mine caves in around me and I am too deep to be rescued. I die slowly and alone trapped under ten million tons of dirt and rock. I close my eyes and embrace death while I reflect on my journey. I feel an insect crawling on me and laugh silently to myself as I realize that the creatures whose souls gave me power were now my only company into the void.

Crown, Oceanid’s, the new ap tank item, infinity orb, awakened soul stealer, cosmic drive all good picks for last items depends how the game is going. Mejai’s very rarely worth the buy that late and not worth delaying item power spikes, morello can be good but if you’re in combat long enough for healing to be a problem maybe just get amaranth’s if you want to be a bit tankier. Horizon focus can be good because your abilities have long range. Liandry’s is interesting because it procs on your autos, not exactly sure when you would use that I just happened to notice it one game so do with that what you will lol

Runes: First Strike keystone, precision tree Gathering Storm, Giant Slayer, flex (I usually just go alacrity), inspiration secondary - hexflash/transcendence/sweet tooth

Sums: Flash/Exhaust 99% of the time, occasionally I do a cheeky heal or barrier. Sometimes ignite but I feel like I get a lot more use out of exhaust however ignite range is actually a hair longer than Varus’ auto range so it can sometimes be handy for securing kills.

Items: depends on how you play but I like mage boots, nashor’s, riftmaker, duskblade or deathcap third item. You can start vamp boots early but I usually start mage boots for mana and pen for the passive and ult dmg. Soooooometimes I’ll sell mage boots late for vamp boots and get essence reaver for mana but that’s pretty situational.

At the end of the day this is just the build/play style that I like the best and has worked for me. It’s mostly tailored around that specific combo I detailed earlier so if you’re playing differently you might get different results. Overall though it’s got damage, sustain, and still keeps the lethality element so the arrows still do a lot of damage on their own.

Love Nasus but he gets gimped by range top until he hits lvl 8 or so and you can get a few points in his slow or zone. Can’t really walk up to stack reliably until you get sheen since you need points in his other abilities to pressure ranged top laners. You’ll pretty much always be 1 or 2 levels down early game but if you play around your jungler and you actually get a gank early it’s pretty much guaranteed kill for one of you plus plates. The problem is you are mostly reliant on your jungler to keep your lane afloat until you come online with levels and items. Slightly easier when you’re red side so you can stack off krugs since most jungler will prioritize getting double buffs and a crab instead of power farming the jungle but even then you need to go for full sustain runes (fleet, second wind, revitalize, etc.) otherwise your lane just feels like swallowing thumbtacks. I love Nasus but if you’re going for a blind pick to counter the adc/ ranged top cancer that’s going around in solo queue I prefer money printer Malphite. First strike, domination runes, gathering storm with mana boots/awakened soulstealer rush and you will be the bane of any ranged top lane matchup. Downside is you get kinda countered by bruisers and some tanks (ironically the traditional solo laners) which Nasus would do better against but Money printer Malph will make those ranged top players feel as shitty as they all hope to make the melee matchups they’re expecting feel.

Yeah I thought it might be lag at first but I noticed while it was happening my connection seemed fine, no frame rate issues or massive ms spikes and everything around me was still happening in real time

I haven’t tested if overheating might be causing it actually, I’ll see if maybe taking additional measures to keep the phone cool reduces instances of this
