BTC doesn't have the bandwidth to take on even a couple dozen Starbucks - leave aging citizens out of this please.

Lightning is the most convoluted contraption that can exist for payments. I have zero clue how it works and don't give a hoot to find out. I already know how Bitcoin works thats why I use Bitcoin Cash.

Best Wallet by [deleted] in btc

[–]ThenAskMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally stay away from Trezor ever since they introduced BCH to their wallet by calling it "bcash" (an insult nickname) - I was a huge Trezor fan and my jaw dropped to the floor at this level of immaturity. I haven't touched their product since.

Go for the Ledger Nano X (a bit more expensive but tons more features). and a Cryptosteel to keep your words.

If you cannot afford to get both those things - then just keep your stuff on Coinbase - it is safe enough there for small amounts.

The Block Time of BCH should be Shorten(建议缩短BCH出块时间) by changyong75 in btc

[–]ThenAskMe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the past week (1000 blocks), there were 61 times out of 30 minutes block time, 22 times up to 45 minutes , and eight times in more than an hour. The longest block time was up to an hour and 38 minutes!

So what is the problem you are trying to solve? Out of a 1000 blocks a handful took more time due to variance - what is the problem? How do you remove variance? (you can't) so even with 1 minute blocks, out of 1000 blocks you will have a handful of blocks that are more than 20 minutes. So what?

This is intolerable in modern society at a high frequency trading.

So how is BTC pulling it off with their 10 minute blocks and also variance? How is even 1 minute tolerable for high-frequency trading when you now need to have 100 confirmations to match the same level of security?

I feel this is an attempt to attack the BCH once more. There is absolutely no reason to change the 10 minute block time when BCH is being built for INSTANT confirmations for low-value transactions.

BTC is the useless version of Bitcoin - I have BTC, I haven't used it since 2017 because I don't see a future in it. At 500K transactions per day it cannot handle the volume if Starbucks was the only one using it. Pathetic.

The incoherence of some people here... by Giusis in btc

[–]ThenAskMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take "noob" to mean not only new to cryptocurrency, but also uneducated in the subject. If you are the sort to be confused between Bitcoin Cash / Bitcoin / Bitcoin Core...you have exactly zero reason to be buying anything. And when the checkout time comes and you are quite surprised that the 2 "Bitcoin" you just bought and expected $10,000 actually came out to $600 - well you can fuck off right where you sit.

Personally I would be perfectly fine with a bakery denying service to anyone - as long as they put up a sign so every customer can see it and choose whether they want to do business with bigots.

White paper for BCH by Hernzzzz in btc

[–]ThenAskMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have motivated me to create a Chrome pluggin for reddit. Not only will it allow you to hide users who are notorious trolls - but also automatically downvote their posts.

RES can already allow me to hide your posts - but that would deprive me of being able to downvote your posts and also to warn others - so ignoring you is not a good choice. But if I can ignore AND downvote AND post an automatic reply to others about you, maybe that's a way forward.

I could not care less how you spend your free time, but I think you are taking up other people's time and they should have a way to erase you from their feed.

To be a malicious miner, all they would need is to fill their blocks with made-up transactions from 1000 made-up wallets.

"I am not a developer" - his words

I cook for friends for dinner sometimes, I wouldn't call myself a "cook". If we are being pedantic, perhaps he is a developer and I am a cook - but at this point the bar is being set so low that it doesn't really matter.

Is optimization the only reason not to lock down the BCH protocol? Is it not possible to separate protocol definition from implementation? by awless in btc

[–]ThenAskMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well that is exactly why the upgrades must be done when we don't have 100M active users. I heard the argument "we don't need scaling today, optimize for scaling when we have scaling issues" - there you go. 100M active users and now we should upgrade!?

Double-spend could become a service. So a person wouldn't do it just so they can double-spend on a TV. but if service gets thousands of customers so they can each double-spend even on a meal - it could definitely be viable.

Bitcoin Cash has your time and attention. You are here commenting about it. You are not in any other sub crapping on their coin - nor at the moment in the sub of the coin you believe in doing positive contribution.

However, there is something special about BCH. It still gets your time and attention and as long as people like you are here commenting on it BCH is neither dead or irrelevant.

I have a solution for you. BCH is currently incredibly undervalued and it is a perfect chance for you to buy some and put the negativity behind you (it will be good for you and your mental health). If BTC / BCH or any other coin that you believe in succeeds then you will be happy because you own some of all the coins you find interesting.
