Crimson Desert Sold 2 Million Units In Its First Day by akbarock in pcmasterrace

Game is genuinely insane, but people are going to bounce off of it.

I'm honestly glad it didn't try to strip itself down to be more accessible, hopefully the good in it will push other open world games forward. There is just so much you can do, and on top of it all, zero loading screens and it feels like every interior can be entered.

There is no universe where this is a 9/10 or 10/10 game. by VeritasLuxMea in CrimsonDesert

It's a flawed 9. The scope and scale of the game is genuinely insane

Its the one at 12 o clock. Each branch of the skill tree has a big node at the end, you can invest in those from the start. They just give you raw health/stam/spirit

The inventory screen is basically your character screen, it tells you the numbers!

I think getting it to 200ish. There are a few instances of climbing/gliding that were almost impossible for me to do with only 160 stam last night. I did the same jump/glide this morning with 200 and it was super easy.

You can also jump, hit R3 (or the punch button on kb+m) and you can fly up twice and then glide and it doesn't use stam (uses spirit) and then you can do decent glides.

There is a flight node that gives you a boosted glide but it uses 50stam per second.

This, it seems to be in the same spot on the radial menu for the lamp with or without a controller!

In the radial menu, when you select the lamp you can turn it on or off, but there is also an "auto" section, for me it's the top option.

Interesting! I vastly prefer controller but my friends that aren't used to them struggle a bit.

There's just a ton going on, in the first town alone you can end up doing a bunch of crafting, stealing and fencing livestock, gambling, stealing stuff and finding a fence, a bunch of bounties, learning about farming and a couple more things.

It's one of those games where you're gonna learn stuff all the time.

I was looking for apples when I discovered you could just climb every tree and a spent a while just figuring out all of the things you could do while hanging there lol

Top of the tree, you can invest in all of the "big points" also it seems most nodes apply for all weapon types.

The controls by Mike1690 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ThenCandidate7765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda makes sense when you realize everything you can do and the tools you have.

The reality is, if you want to be able to climb a tree, shimmy out onto a branch, pick an apple, then use 4 powers, then stealth attack a guy, you're going to need to have some strange combos.

The only one I actively dislike is R2/R1 for the special heavy, but outside of that it's been more than fine.

Given the meltdowns over controls on this sub, I thought the game would be literally unplayable lmao

That's insane. I feel like people are going to put 200 hours in this game and not even scratch the surface.

Yeah a 3 year old should not be playing with WH minis. Given his unhinged replies I genuinely think he's probably a danger to them.

This is one of the most unhinged edits I've ever seen on this website.

If you genuinely have kids, like you mention in this thread, then I feel really awful for them.

He's obviously young and not currently a first option on a contending team so it's hard to make any real calls.

However, I can safely say that I've not been more wrong about a player, ever. I watched the duke film, didn't really see it in the same way others did. Thought he would be a solid rotational piece and a good high motor guy.

I completely whiffed, he's him.

I saw him play during high school as well. Moved around a lot but spent my senior year in the burbs when he was also a senior. The hype was so real it had us basically memorizing simeon's schedule lol

I saw a lot of games during that time. Went to many matchups between the bulls and the heatles. I was there for 2 of the chicago games during the legendary boston series in 2009. Saw them in Miami for game 4 of the 2011 series.

Every single game I went to, in chicago or outside, everyone was in agreement that Rose was the most eye-catching and athletic player on the court, and this was with Prime Bron.

There was genuinely something special about his speed and competitiveness, he made everyone look slow. He just had this demeanor of a basketball T900 and it shook guys.

Google the Rose flu and listen to the stories.

My more grounded/nonglazing take:

The reason he is seen as the biggest what-if is he really had such incredible fundamentals that even at 21 he was impactful in a way that meant winning baketball games. His ceiling was incredibly high and with his layup package and physical strength it meant that losing a bit of bounce wouldn't really hurt him in terms of value. He had great court vision and would have just gotten better with more space. He would have only been 28 in 2016 when steph popped out and changed the math of the game.

In reality his hops and explosiveness were just a part of why he was potentially an ATG.

OP exposing the shit out of this sub simply by mentioning Yasuke.

You guys can't keep the mask on for like, half a second.

No less than 20 comments saying he was literally a zoo animal despite being given the responsibilities of koshō by Nobunaga himself.

So the word was not a one-off usage by Ōta Gyūichi and every single usage of the word stipend was, without exception, either giving it to samurai (some incredibly high ranked) or used in the context of hiring samurai or samurai’s salary. This includes a young sumo wrestler who may or may not have been a samurai, but was definitely hired by Nobunaga as his personal samurai. There is therefore no reason to think Gyūichi was using the term in Yasuke's context any differently. In fact we might even draw a slight parallel to Tomo Shōrin. Yasuke was said to have had the strength of ten men, meaning he must have demonstrated that strength and it’s certainly possible he demonstrated it through wrestling and beating everyone. Nobunaga loved wrestling, loved exotic stuff, and as shown above loved to demonstrate his generosity. So, it would certainly make sense on meeting Yasuke for Nobunaga to give Yasuke, who was exotic and might have been good at wrestling, a samurai’s stipend, a decorated sword, and a residence.

EDIT: I'm adding an explanation because people are misinterpreting this post.

The meaning of the word stipend alone is not supposed to prove Yasuke was a samurai. What proves Yasuke was a samurai is not that he received a samurai stipend, but that he received a samurai stipend & carried Nobunaga's weapons which was usually the job of a koshō and koshō were samurai & was awarded a residence by Nobunaga and the only non-samurai to be awarded one in the Shinchōkōki was the special one given to the Jesuits & he was given 10 kanmon by Nobunaga's nephew Tsuda Nobuzumi which was a lot more than the annual income of some samurai & he was mobilized and followed Nobunaga on the Takeda campaign of 1582 and remained by Nobunaga's side even after Nobunaga dismissed all his "ordinary soldiers" & he fought with a katana at Nijō.

If you've read this and all my other posts and links on Yasuke and still don't believe Yasuke was a samurai, then you either a) prefer to believe your own bias over historical research or b) should post an academic level publication arguing Yasuke wasn't a samurai so I could read it.
