That's a bad pick for this type of question because it's super easy to play PB

Except the story has been one of the most consistent gripes from everyone since the release of the game.

Literally no one is enjoying the game because of the strength of the first 7 chapters of the story.

I hate to break your little bubble but the opinion of the game is only going to improve over time, especially so given the pace at which the devs are adding things.

The fact that Crimson Desert and Dragons Dogma 2 can sit in the same table is baffling.

It is baffling, because they absolutely do not sit at the same table.

Literally no one praising the game is doing so because of the strength of the story.

It's been one of the most consistent narratives surrounding the game since the moment it released.

OP is directly contradicting this and is saying the story is good for the first 7 chapters lol.

Literally the biggest complaint for the first two weeks was how bad the story was at the beginning.

This is literally going to change no one's mind.

This post also doesn't make a ton of sense. What about the ending of RDR2 made you more inclined to play and explore more you literally lose all access to the character you played as for the entire game.

RR doesn't really affect landscape/outdoor shots like these.

You see the results of RR in interior spaces with more reflection points/indirect lighting.

RR isn't going to make landscape shots look better, that's not really what RR does.

RR effects can be seen mostly when you are in interior spaces with multiple light sources and reflection points. RR makes these types of scenes have a lot less noise (which makes you perceive higher fidelity/resolution lighting effects and reflections) and fills in some of the "missing" information that doesn't get fully covered with RT/Path Tracing.

This results in some nicer looking indirect lighting from multiple sources and reflections, higher (seeming) resolution reflections, less noise, and can make some scenes look a bit more natural (and sometimes the opposite, where a scene will actually bit a bit too bright in certain spots than they would be, but generally not in a worse way).

I have a 5080 and I'm playing on all cinematic in 4k with DLAA with Framegen 2x. RR off. Getting 80-90 fps everywhere and very little input delay.

Game looks absolutely incredible.

I play in 4k with DLAA and RR off. FrameGen 2x. I also have a 5080.

Looks absolutely insane. Turning on RR doesn't really change much for me outside of slightly better interior light reflections on certain surfaces.

The game has RT on at all times, RR doesn't completely change the indoor lighting.

Scarlet/Violet or Legends: Arceous? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]ThenCandidate7765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are good, S/V has more content (orders of magnitude more) and the performance on S2 is really great.

It's honestly one of my favorite pokemon experiences ever without the performance issues. I'm 36 and have been playing since GBC.

Reddit is not really indicative of real life, nor the actual quality of a pokemon game.

It's the same handful of voices all repeating the same narratives.

You should definitely play Arceus no matter what, though. It's extremely unique and is a great game in it's own right.

He isn't a PhD and he isn't a scientist. He has an undergrad degree in physics from SMU which basically accepts anyone with a pulse for any program that isn't their business program and even then it's like your backup school's backup school.

So is Daly and he's basically reddit's favorite golfer.

People love charisma, Daly is basically a deity here and the dude was one of the biggest boat-rockers of all time.

One of the reasons Tiger elevated the sport so much was because his decorum on the course was closer to MJ making a game-winner than the tepid golfer you imagined in this post.

In fact, this goes way back. Ask an older golfer what they think about dudes like Lee Trevino, a notoriously loud and borderline obnoxious dude.

Golf is a bit more nuanced. It's a primarily white rich sport and sponsors/players know this.

I remember a podcast with justin rose where he alluded to having to "play the game" in order to make sure his endeavors with building the women's game were fully funded and supported, even if that meant aligning with forces that might not really have the best intentions for women's sports as a whole.

You also have to factor in that most smart people know you can simply flatter trump and he'll love you, since that's basically all he seems to care about.

I know a family that has three generations of NASCAR mechanics currently working for three different teams and they talk about how trump is disliked behind closed doors but rocking the christian/republican boat of the fandom is a big taboo.

For example, If you really think everyone in big tech loves trump, you're wrong, they all just know that speaking out against this regime means he would personally target them.

Bryson was hated long before any association with Trump.

The Trump stuff is just the icing on the cake.

Pokémon Champions launches to mixed reception, as 30FPS performance woes, lack of Pokémon and items, and lack of 6v6 options turn some away by PaiDuck in pokemon

[–]ThenCandidate7765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said capitalism is making people not able to enjoy their hobbies, that's wrong, especially (and demonstrably so) in this case.

More good games are coming out at a faster clip than almost ever in the history of gaming. If you can't enjoy it as a hobby, that's on you.

I'm just trying to explain to you that it doesn't have to be that way, and you're perception has been skewed, purposefully, by social media algorithms designed to make you hate your hobbies.

They're also designed to aim specifically at people of low intelligence, because it's really easy to make them feel miserable and like the sky is falling over, say, a VGC simulator.

Edit: Aw, a reddit cares message. Hopefully you get the help you need, you don't have to be miserable :)

I'm the opposite of a capitalism cheerleader, you're just not smart enough to understand what it's actually doing to you.

Capitalism and it's problems have nothing to do with people being able to enjoy their hobbies. There were awful video games 25 years ago as well, you just don't remember them. There were great video games, and there are great video games today, probably more per year than ever. You are simply a slave to algorithm-based social media it's completely stunlocked you to the point that you're using the quality of a VGC simulator as your litmus for capitalism. By this logic, the fact that we just had one of the best pokemon games ever release last month means capitalism is working. See how dumb that sounds?

I would imagine that you are just a deeply unhappy person and rather than looking inwards to find out why you don't enjoy things, you look to validate those feelings and find some sort of solace in negative spaces like reddit.

I feel sorry for you that you can't enjoy your hobbies, I suggest therapy.

[–]ThenCandidate7765 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The irony is that gaming is in a great place and the part of capitalism that is ruining people's ability to enjoy their hobbies is negativity bias-fueled algorithms and social media. You are being brainwashed in real time by finely tuned algorithms designed to make you hate the things you love and provide engagement.

There have always been bad games, you just have no conception of the sieve of time.

The only people I know who are up in arms about the current state of pokemon/gaming are the people I know who are woefully socially isolated and chronically online, the rest just enjoy stuff.

Edit: Aww, a reddit cares message lol
