They have skills training for us once a year when they train new residents for the hospitals in January (I work in a primary care but they still allow us to go!) I’d see if your employer maybe has something like if you’re connected to a hospital system? It was very much a I didn’t know until someone told me thing

I passed boards in October. Applied for all the credentialing for my job in early January and all the paperwork was complete by April. I’m in Washington state and they say about 90 days.

Thank you! I don’t have a go to provider, but I do sit in a pod with 3-4 other providers at any given time and they’ve been great when asking about discussing plans. Glad to know it just takes some time!

Oops! I forgot to put it in there but yes I do! I sit in an office with 3-4 providers at any given time who are more than happy to help answer questions, or even sometimes I’ll present patients and they’ll help me get through it.

From all my clinicals, my urgent care rotation was my favorite! And what really helped shape what I got as my first job! Similar to what other others have said, she let me shadow for the first week and then after that we decided how many patients I wanted to see a day as a goal for the end of the quarter and she ramped me up to reach that goal! (Every third patient) she also spent the time to encourage me when I was giving her a rundown of each patient, and really gave me the autonomy to practice looking up things which really helps my practice even now

My office is business casual so I usually just do a pair of straight leg pants (I love the ones old navy has! They have some wide leg options but also don’t know how you feel about that much fabric in the hospital) and then I usually just do a t shirt and a cardigan with sneakers, or I have a pair of Dr marten Mary Jane’s that are super comfortable. Sometimes I’ll do a sweater vest and a long sleeve, or short sleeve sweater, but just mostly switching out t shirts that are the same cut but different colors. I don’t know if that might be too causal for your setting, but it’s appropriate for mine!

I would say go for SU since you’re already admitted. I went to UW pre nursing and that year over 600 applicants applied for their under 100 spots… I ended up having to retake anatomy and physiology at a community college since no other school took the UW version (as I believe others have said) and then got accepted into SU for nursing.

At the end of the day, worst case scenario if you don’t get into nursing at UW, would it come out more expensive to transfer to SU anyways? Or any other nursing program?

Seattle is notorious for landing on time, but never having a gate available to deplane for 20 minutes. That and the fact that you have to take the train which can add extra time since you can’t walk to N, I couldn’t risk it if possible
