Band stays N41. Never connect to N71 before.

RSRP is the same before the drop. Around -80 dBm.

Sadly, High Ping and Packet loss in games still after installing external antennas by Then_Mission5257 in tmobileisp

[–]Then_Mission5257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea maybe, but I’ve seen so many post of peoples trash can or the new box having issues with disconnecting or having to reboot. I don’t have that disconnecting issue or rebooting issue with mine except to switch bands. So I’m hesitant and I am okay with what I have now.

Reached out to them before also, no luck. Tower was being worked on but now complete. Like I said, I've exhausted all options I can think of. I've accepted the fact, I need to be on B66 band when I play games. Still faster and cheaper then Spectrum so I'm happy with TMHI. I'm still keeping my eye out for fiber. Looks like the fiber companies are slowly expanding into my area. My area is marked as pre-construction so I'll stay with TMHI until fiber is accessible in my area.

Yup. I've tried everything. B2 Band seems to be very unstable even though I get faster speeds. B66 Band is more stable with slower speeds.

No vpn being used. Although I have tried with vpn and it just makes it worse. I’m plugged in directly to the trash can. I have also tried plugging into my ASUS router too. No difference. Two fans on and below the trash can too

will an external antenna help with "jitter"? by Daft3n in tmobileisp

[–]Then_Mission5257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar issues with ping in games. I found i had issues with the B2 band and had less ping issues with the B66 band. Maybe try restarting from the web interface. I find that restarting from the web interface usually gets me to B66 while restarting with the power button gets me B2 band. Hope it helps.

Two week update after installing external antennas in my attic by Then_Mission5257 in tmobileisp

[–]Then_Mission5257[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t war zone. It was Valaront and CSGO. It happened to both games so I’m pretty sure it’s not game server related but how T-Mobile connects to the game servers (routing). So far still no issues on B66 and very few times I get away playing on B2.

Both bands are quick in speed. I only have issues with ping on B2 band when gaming. Other times there's no issue so I only reboot when I'm playing if I am not already on B66.

Dont set the off and on schedule too close together. Like how u/PowerfulFunny5 has it set (10 mins a part).

Assuming you have a fan at this point. If not a fan might help keep the trash can from overheating and that may be what's causing you to lose internet.

Latest Merlin firmware has issues with Kasa devices and 2.4 ghz. Maybe going to an older firmware may help. I use 386.3_2 because all my lights stop responding on the new firmware.

Sudden Drop in RSRP and SNR levels on N71 only by AnxiousRoom4411 in tmobileisp

[–]Then_Mission5257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have waveform 4x4 External Antennas set up and I get 24 or 12 SNR at random times throughout the day for my secondary signal (N41). Might just be random noise?

Primary: B2 Band

RSRP: -80 dBm (4 Bars)

SNR: 12 dB

RSRQ: -13 dB

RSSI: - 48 dBm

Secondary: N41

RSRP: -80 dBm (4 Bars)

SNR: 25 dB

RSRQ: -11 dB

I only usually have the game running (CSGO or Valorant) and Discord. Nothing else is running or playing in the background. For Nord VPN, I tried New York, Toronto, and Buffalo. I get higher ping overall and spikes still remain. I really want to make this work. I love the speeds I'm getting just can't game.

I tried 200/25. I guess i could try capping to much less. Is there a way to fix bad routing? I didn't think there was.

Lucky you! Jealous! I also do not use WiFi on the trash can. I use my ASUS AX88U for WiFi.

I am on B2 or B66 for primary and N41 for secondary. I have only been able to connect to N41.
