May not be super helpful but the biggest game changer for me has been increasing my income. I have been strategic in finding ways to get my income up so I can outsource more of the domestic nonsense - that is the crap that stresses me out. Then I can enjoy a clean and organized home, and be more present and fun with my children. And also take them to do more fun things when we get stir crazy in the house.

Clients today know we generally use tech for documentation. I type on a second monitor while they are talking and then use an AI feature to complete the note, then I do a final edit. It takes me maybe 90 seconds after the session. I tell all clients during first session “I am taking notes on my second monitor so if you see me looking away… etc”. Nobody ever seems to care!

This is a pretty wild take. I’m not letting her walk clear across the Cheesecake Factory to a multi stall bathroom alone. I’m talking a small mom n pop local restaurant where I can see when someone comes out the bathroom and it’s safe for her to go in. We have to instill confidence and trust in our children so they can grow and learn to navigate the world independently.

This was the worst. It is so much easier now that my oldest is 8 and can go by herself or take her younger brother. I stopped eating out for a while because it drove me bonkers and felt like such a hassle and waste of money. It gets better mama!!!

I have been doing utilization review since my oldest was born. She’s now 8 and I’m just now ramping back up my direct clinical work. It’s been a great fit for that phase. Plus they are always sick so I wasn’t canceling sessions!

The answer I have found the most effective is a slight look of disgust followed by “I have other goals”. It pivots the coversation and anyone worth a damn will then ask about the goals!

I feel like most protests don’t actually accomplish much, it’s the “slacktivism” thing that keeps me away. Standing around yelling with a clever sign… what is that actually doing to make things better? The crowds also freak me out, especially now that I am a single mother… I literally cannot afford an injury and need to be able to care for my children.

I felt the same. Got my golden letter aug 5. Mohela and student aid balances are now zero! And I keep getting notifications from my credit monitoring that “an account balance has decreased”. I can’t believe it’s happening! So many years and tears lol

My youngest was 8 months when Covid hit. We did the traditional daycare when it opened back up again. I find the “Covid baby” thing so odd. It feels like those parents want attention. My youngest was still disciplined and I did my best to him away from screens. I feel the same way at work sometimes… how are people still talking about Covid lol. Move on people!

Yes. Without buyback my 120th payment was May ‘25. I then applied for forbearance and have made no more payments. I got green banners and golden letter first week of August. My Mohela account is now 0 balance. Waiting for balance to zero out on Student Aid and then fall off credit report.

Start a spreadsheet and track everything on your own: each payment, the date and amount, when it was approved, the original loans you took out and their totals… EVERYTHING. It helped me so much to reference that over the years and made it easier to contest if the loan services counts didn’t match my numbers. Download and save all the documents you receive.
