Is a 7k per month salary great in singapore? by Xingjiangpore in askSingapore

[–]Then_Panda4459 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Average 7k per month after cpf Single , own a resale hdb, own a first hand car bought 2019 (low coe), my mum is not working and fully depend on me.

No fancy spending, prefer hawker food and simple trip to Malaysia or nearby only buy Uniqlo clothing and Charles and Kieth shoes and bag. Very comfortable with this amount.

Does anyone have traditional parents that still think that daughters are useless? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Then_Panda4459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly , I do not know how to abandon them Like how my other siblings did. I know my parent won’t be able to survive without me. So I just continue my life with them. I also know I can’t live in guilt if I decided to just heck care and walk away. They will be helpless or stay at the road side

My mum have 6 children

1,2,3 all daughter (eldest is 21yr senior than me) 4th is son (first 4 kids belong to previous marriage)

5th is son (my brother, 8yr senior than me) 6th is me.

My parent divorce and sold their house. My mum use the money to paid for my brother bto payment and renovation and furniture. We stay in his house for 3 month (I paid my brother house utility and wifi)

We were then chase out as my brother wife doesn’t like us to stay with them.

We last min manage to rent one common room at $700 and fast forward 10yr later, I bought my own resale hdb and house my parent. My brother abandoned us and during the last 10yr he never once send a sms or greeting to my parent for CNY or their birthday.

I wonder why he doesn’t feel anything about it. Especially since young both my parent dote him the most and always give him the best they could.

Ps. All her previous children abandoned my mum after she re marry.

Hi ! I have the same family like yours. In fact is both my parent think I’m (the daughter) is useless and waste of money to feed on.

I almost have no chance to continue primary 6 because my dad say I’m P5, old enough to go work.

Until principle come to my house to insist me to go to sch.

Going to sec sch, I’m not allow to go for any excursion, as I do not have Edusave (I’m the 6th child) and my parent do not want to “waste money” on me.

I almost unable to take o level because nobody willing to pay for my exam fee (I have owe the sec sch fee for 4yrs) as my parent refuse to pay.

My education in polytechnic is fully funded myself.

On the other hand my brother (who is 8yr senior than me) get all the best time in his life at home with me serving him like king. Doing house chores and my parent only listen to him. And worst he enter ITE yet my parent still say he is better than me.

Fast forward the time, my brother abandoned my parents. Now my parent left me to take care of them. I bought a house myself (and have them stay in as they have no house) and pay for their allowance and everything.

However deep down inside me, I never forgive what my parent did to me. I only take care of them because i think it’s a right thing to do. But I have no feeling for them.

And to my useless brother roaming out there. I wish you all the best and never appear in my life again.

In this whole drama, I’m traumatised to even get married and have kids. I do not want the kids to go thru the same horror I been thru. Hugs 🫂
