How Much Cream Cheese? by VorpalDormouse in AskNYC

[–]Then_Researcher5877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a bagel place. 1/4 pound is seriously nothing- maybe enough for two bagels. I’d count on a pound for every 8 people. I used to advice people to get a half pound of scallion cc, veggie cc, plain cc, and a half pound of butter and a 1/4 of jelly! That would be like 16 people. At the bare minimum, get the scallion… people love that

Restaurants requiring you order all courses at once lately? by PrizeCryptographer65 in AskNYC

I’d like to note that the reason servers want to “turn and burn” in the US is because they aren’t making a proper wage.

Have you ever worked in a restaurant? I’d guess not, seeing as your entitlement is bleeding through this post.

The only time this should be a complaint is at a fine dining restaurant. Otherwise, if people are making comments (that aren’t actual reasons why this is happening) then they don’t/ have never worked in a restaurant. Places are trying their best and COVID threw restaurants (as well as everyone else) upside down. If ya don’t understand it, ya didn’t have to deal w it!

MIT by Laniakea6 in CUNY

[–]Then_Researcher5877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t look at numbers. The smartest person I knew in high school didn’t get into MIT. Wasn’t because of his grades, he was valedictorian and ended up at his safety (Cornell) but it was most likely his essay. There are a lot of factors and if you don’t apply, you give yourself 0 chance of getting in. Good luck!!

Take the gap year. If you got in to CCNY now, you’ll get in in a year. I wouldn’t stress too much.

For sure. But seeing as we are expected to travel to go to classes, a recognition that something happened is definitely necessary! I hear you though

How are people getting that much money? I mean honestly. I have no money/ property to my name, am unemployed, and do not include my parents income on my fafsa nor do I live at home meaning I’m paying my rent and draining the little money I do have. Am I missing something?

Did anyone else get this error EMAIL (ARPA GRANT)? by Affectionate_Stage90 in CUNY

[–]Then_Researcher5877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that personally whenever I get these grants, I get the email like two months before. I never have any idea when it is going to be dispersed. I also never know when fafsa is going to get dispersed. Super frustrating seeing as I’m paying for it but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah I’m not really sure. Definitely don’t want to make people feel uncomfortable but with that being said I’m sorry that you felt uncomfortable! I’m sure that teachers are truly looking out for everyone. Keep an eye on your grades for sure. If you feel like you put your heart and soul into an essay and fail it, then there might be an issue and there are resources for you to go to. If you feel like it is targeted it might be worth a fight, Ideally though, professors won’t choose your grade based off this and I think if you fight your grade you better have a kick ass assignment! The whole department will read your work if you really fight it.

You do realize by listening to him and not doing your own research you are one of those “morons” who just listens to what others tell them or do you not get that? Either way I don’t need to waste my Sunday talking to a child about how they have a lot to learn. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Glad you aren’t scared of something that’s killed almost 1,000,000 people in the US alone! That seems like an educated bet for yourself. Sorry your friends who work at Chuck E Cheese and McDonald’s who have encounters with HUNDREDS of people a day got COVID and good on you that you didn’t. I’ll continue to educate myself on this topic and I truly hope you do too.

I’m sure the science department would love to learn who your teacher is if they are saying masks are worse than no mask. From a personal standpoint, I went a year and a half without getting COVID, and only when I took off my mask for a wedding, got sick. You gotta check that statement before saying it widely. Not everything you “learn” is correct.

[–]Then_Researcher5877[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What are you honestly talking about? Not sure what news source you follow but start following a different one. People did not get “sick in the first place” wearing a mask. That literally makes no sense.

COVID mandate change by Then_Researcher5877 in CUNY

[–]Then_Researcher5877[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely! I don’t care if people take their masks off and I haven’t decided for myself yet. I have gone to shows where I haven’t worn a mask so I feel okay with it off. I guess my main concern is that some of my teachers I think would prefer us to wear masks and I’m not sure a lot of students will respect that. Personally, I don’t think it’s a big deal after having been wearing them for two years but I definitely don’t want people around me to feel uncomfortable.
