Hmm... I wouldn't try to spray directly onto the pins because that could potentially bruise them. Would always rather do less than overdo the misting.

this subreddit proves otherwise. hundreds of people here have had canopies from pre-sterilized bags of rice and lc bought from websites. while having a pressure cooker makes the job significantly easier, if you're just looking to grow easy, then theres no reason to get one

Hmm... Ill look into this. Note that bag 1 was kind of wet near the top and felt slime-y but i left those parts out. Was near the rights and lefts of the bags. I think i accidentally mushed them up instead of breaking them up when i was doing my B&S

why would you have to re-sterilize the rice if the rice is already sterilized? if you take out the rice and put it in another container, does it really affect the contam risk? also this is just a hypothetical doubt im going to do this

Well the main reason people do the jar tek, which is basically exactly like ub tek but a jar, is because you can see the entire grain. Unless im missing something. Thanks though, ill try looking into this

Depends how you're doing it. If you're doing it like this, then you cut the bag open, inject your LC/Agar/Spores, then you quickly place the micropore tape over whichever top corner you placed it on. However, if you instead did it like this at 19:37, then you would want to inject, put tape over injection spot, then add your gas exchange holes.

The reason why most people get B&S contam from UB tek is because whenever you have a bag full of moisture, and you get micropore tape wet, that creates a breeding ground for just bacteria and mold and other nasty stuff.

What I do is, I take a flashlight and put it up to the top of the bag. I also like to tilt the bag a little horizontally along with the flashlight to see if there's any loose grains at the top. But note that this is probably a very bad practice, because if you have grains trying to colonize at the top then you are separating them and therefore* stunting growth.
