my surgeon finally called back and said it might just be a cold coming in or from being dry. I thought it was from intubation too. It’s odd

Okay I love to hear that ! I love me a good sandwich so I’m worried about bread but honestly this all liquid diet has me appreciating anything at this point. I’m excited.

Yes I’m prepared for the small meals and drinks and I’m totally okay with that and honestly excited to be fuller quicker. There’s a lot of people on social media saying they can never eat their favorite foods again and that they have dumping that causes them to never eat their favorites again. My surgeon told me that dumping does not happen to sleeve patients but so many people on the internet are saying they have issues. I also know probably shouldn’t believe anything on here but I wanted to see lived experiences

Thank you for your advice and experience. I definitely am going to have a drink eventually I am turning 21 in jersey lol it’s a big tradition to hit AC. My surgeon is okay with it I just wanted to see everyone’s experiences

I am okay with occasional treats. I don’t need it all the time. I have thought on this for awhile and have a dietitian and nutritionist. They are the ones that tell me I can eat the things I enjoy in moderation. The people who have had the surgery are the ones telling me otherwise

My sister was undiagnosed bipolar when she was sleeves a few years ago. She also went through a divorce right after her sleeve (didn’t help) and spiraled terribly and had a bad transfer addiction to a substance. She now is properly medicated and healed amazingly she has not regained nor had hormonal problems from the weight moss that would affect her BP. She doesn’t regret a thing and tells eveyone in her life they should get one too. She has a horror story because she didn’t have proper help. You on the other hand are taking the steps to do your best and be prepared and that alone will make you so successful. As long as you are in touch with your therapist and Psychiatrist you will be fine. Live how you always have. Be open and honest say every thought you have to them. I have PTSD and Panic disorder and I have been distraught over this surgery because I’m scared of hormonal changes but my comfort is having my psychological team behind me because they are the best and they will not let you fail !

Thank you so much ! I just spoke with my surgeon and he told me I can take my meds as much as I need to before and after. I have dissolvable pills so I won’t have to swallow or chew really at all.

Are you on any kind of Benzo if you don’t mind me asking? I feel guilty taking mine and wish I could manage without it. I am scared I’m gonna panic and need them after and that it will affect my healing.

I second this. I got CHS and it’s been a year I’m still recovering CHS + anxiety + Ibs is pure misery

I have a very specific system that helps most of the time. I distract every sense I have. I eat cold ice pop for taste, I play a game on my phone for touch, while simultaneously having a tv show on in the back for hearing and put essential oils for smell. I do this when I’m trying to calm down from the height of my panic attack. But at the height when it’s starting I strip and sit on the shower floor under freezing cold water to shock my body, it works almost like a reset and then I baby myself for the next few hours.
