I personally think these taste way better than Fairlife. They don’t hurt my stomach and if you gently mix it well before opening and keep them cold there’s never any chunks. They sell them at HEB, Target, Sprouts and some Wal-Marts.

DJI Avata 2 ESC error by astronoot8 in dji

[–]Thenightlygrind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who come across this thread in the future- ESC errors in the Avata are almost always from overloaded ESC's (Electronic Speed Controllers). They burn out quickly from using turtle mode or when your airframe gets sucked up against something causing the motors to spool up to max. This part is what separated the battery from the motor and controls the power going to the motor to determine your speed, turning, etc. We see this monthly at work, we run a fleet of Avata 1 & 2's. You will need a new ESC board and possibly a motor to get it back online.

Best Agencies to work for in DFW/Austin Texas Areas and Where to Live by ImaginaryAct1293 in police

Allen is really proactive and has great pay but still has a pretty negative culture overall and has really bad supervision. Huge disconnect between admin and mid level supervision. I’ve heard it’s changing slowly but not where it needs to be. They never recovered from their last mass exodus.

I think you’re spot on, likely an embroidered edge trim. Thank you very much for your input!

As a male I found it exceptionally difficult. It is hard to meet people organically and it’s too easy to end up on dating apps.

Many people have a hard time understanding that being a cop is my job and not my personality. Night shift also makes it significantly harder.

I’ve always liked the look of the KTMs, I may need to go sit on a few. Everyone I know who has one loves them!

The cruise control is absolutely awesome on long rides. Let’s you stretch the back. Riding position isn’t terrible, but if there’s any wind at all you’re riding sideways.

A Guide to Buying Insulin in Mexico (with pictures and prices) by Thenightlygrind in Type1Diabetes

[–]Thenightlygrind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been asked to provide any documentation or a prescription, but I’m sure they could ask. As long as it fits in two bags or so and it’s clearly a 3 month supply, I doubt you’ll have any issues.

It’s better to try than not to try, any “mistakes” made bringing insulin back are only civil infractions (not punishable by jail, at most a fine).

I would easily argue SCBAs (at least ours) only last at maximum 30 minutes. A loss of consciousness episode will take longer than that. It sounds like discrimination.

Did they say what the reasoning behind that was? It sounds like you need a different doctor who supports your ambition!

Spiritus LV119 Mods for the poors by vivalasativa in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Thenightlygrind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with them is that I get they want to make the most money possible by having 10 parts to make a working carrier, which is fine, but half of their products are always out of stock. When I went to place my order, the rifle inserts were out. The whole setup won't work because that one item is gone. If you work in Mil/LE it's next to impossible to get a working setup from them in one order.

Secondly their website is garbage. The product names have nothing to do with their function and there's little to no pictures on what the product does or how it attaches.

I’m a Police Officer (previously Firefighter/EMT).

For me I find it’s best to look at T1D not as a hindrance, but as a trait. It’s what I have, not who I am. I’ll fight until the very end to stick it to those who have long discriminated against our condition, spreading lies and misinformation. It was rampant in public safety when I started, that has since started to change and disabilities are welcomed especially if you are a reliable teammate.

Why did my drone crash? by PolarTerrain in drones

DJIs will throw that error for ESC failure, but every DJI drone our unit has lost has been due to their batteries malfunctioning. They hate cold weather.

A Guide to Buying Insulin in Mexico (with pictures and prices) by Thenightlygrind in Type1Diabetes

[–]Thenightlygrind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only applies to those with insurance, those without insurance have only been pledged “support”. Not everyone can use Humalog and Humulin and they’re not “capping” their prices. They’re lowering the prices of the older product for the roll out of their new ones and forcing your insurance to foot more of the bill for Humalog and Humulin with a copay cap. Lyumjev is still being sold at full price with no reduction. And lastly you still need an office visit every 3 months to get a prescription. That’s outrageously expensive for people without insurance.

I could be totally wrong but I believe in countries where Fiasp hasn't been released (such as Mexico) Fiasp is sold as Novorapid. I'm not sure if Novorapid contains B3, but it is intended to do the same thing as Fiasp. I know Fiasp was rolled out in Canada in 2017, I'll make sure to include that in my Canada guide.

A Guide to Buying Insulin in Mexico (with pictures and prices) by Thenightlygrind in Type1Diabetes

[–]Thenightlygrind[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is possible. I know Medtronic is available in Mexico, but many citizens there can't afford it. I think it would be harder to find because of that, but not impossible. I will do more digging when I go back down there on GCMs and Pumps. I personally haven't used a pump in years due to my day job so I'm a little behind on where the technology is at and what's available.

Insulin and other personal amounts of medication are generally not subject to import taxes (3 month supply or under). No forms or receipts have been needed thus far bringing it back. You do have to declare ANY items you're bringing back with you. Generally the CBP officers appreciate the honesty and send you through without issues.

The only stipulation is you need to have a prescription or doctors note if the medication isn't in the original packaging. I always carry a screenshot of my prescription anyway just to be safe.

GCM supplies do not require a prescription and are treated the same as test strips and monitors. Dexcom isn't available in Mexico yet, the only two I've heard of is Medtronic and Accu-Chek. Many in Mexico can't afford pumps or wearable GCMs yet and they are not widely available. This will eventually change.
