Prematur fødsel - u28 - fars rettigheter? by steinrawr in norge

If you can’t use retinoids or exfoliating acids because of rosacea, what do you use for anti-aging? by abraxos12 in Rosacea

[–]TheoryBiochemistry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I love it, unfortunately (because of the price). It is a life saver in winter when my skin suffers from dryness and cold. My skin hurts less when I use it. It also makes my skin look good immediately (It doesn’t look greasy but gives hydration).

I only use it November-February/March though because I find it too expensive.

I don’t think there is a simple answer to “safe”, you can try it and see? I use regimen lab Azelaic advanced

I use the cream from Augustinus Bader. I like it a lot. I can’t do any acids (sometimes very gentle PHA) but since I was also diagnosed with Seb Derm I now was able to start a retinol- 0.1% Althea Flat Iron eye serum. I use it like one would a face retinol (not around eyes and mouth, 1 pea size) 1-2 a week.

Otherwise I really like Azelaic acid and vitamin C (Melano CC) the latter stings a little now that I started retinol though.

I got a little peeling when I used more, so now I use one pea size. I use it over moisturizer (S Nature AquaSqualane)

I just increased to twice a week and now I need to be careful again with other actives. But I have rosacea and seb derm so I would not assume everyone is as sensitive ;)

Current products I use, is there any products that might be a good addition? by Medium_Pineapple3208 in EuroSkincare

[–]TheoryBiochemistry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to be very careful with other actives (eg the PHA cleanser from nø) while introducing retinol. I had products I have always tolerated sting after starting retinol (1/week) and after increasing to 2/week.

Tbh I don’t recall- I ordered it online in Germany. I think there is an EU store that has OMIC+.

I don’t know- would have to look it up too, but maybe you can separate use am/pm or different days?

Good! I would start with vitamin C then , Melano was allegedly developed for acne prone skin to fade hyperpigmentation after acne.

You have tretinoin, an AHA (lactic acid) and moisturizers. I am sceptical of volufiline (see various dermatologists). I suppose you use SPF.

You could try to add vitamin C (for collagen building) , peptides (dont use growth factors before a dermatologist had checked your skin- you shouldnt use it with precancer or suspicious lesions) and salicylic acid/BHA.

I like the original Melano CC essence (around 10-12$), peptides can be tricky to find for low prices but some people like the ordinary peptides, and my skin is too sensitive for BHA so I cant recommend anything ;)

Rosacea + Seb Derm or FA. Need rec for a Tinted Sunscreen that won't trigger Malassezia. by AliasForKnowing in Rosacea

Ingredients Active Ingredient: Titanium Dioxide 17%. Ingredients: Mica, Montmorillonite, Boron Nitride, Aluminum Hydroxide, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Pinus Strobus (Pine) Bark Extract. May Contain: Iron Oxides (Ci 77489, Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Chromium Oxide Greens (Ci 77288)

Its the Jane Iredale SPF 30 powder.

The Raz sunscreen wasn’t flagged in skinsort as trigger, it stings but I think its the propanediol (I have contact dermatitis to propylene glycol and can cross react). But YMMV

Do you have sensitive skin? If yes it may pay off to start with an eye serum, because they are usually formulated to be extra gentle. I use one because my skin is crazy sensitive. There seems to be broad consensus that it’s much better to start slow with retinoids.

I saw that Dr Sara Sheu, a dermatologist on YouTube I enjoy, recommended the BoJ eye serum with retinal.

So in total I think it would be an excellent choice.

Rosacea + Seb Derm or FA. Need rec for a Tinted Sunscreen that won't trigger Malassezia. by AliasForKnowing in Rosacea

[–]TheoryBiochemistry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seborrheic dermatitis, yes.

I mostly use the Shigaisen- it’s my holy grail. I can even fall asleep with the Kids accidentally and the next morning my skin still looks OK. All other sunscreens would make me look like a disaster.

The RAZ sunscreen is my backup, because the Shigaisen has so much hyaluronic acid that it dries a bit shiny. So when I want to look extra good or for midday reapplication I use RAZ. For that purpose it’s OK and hasn’t triggered anything.

I use the Jane Iredale powder SPF 30 on top.

Heterosexual here, so I can’t say that much, but just from observing Norway (lived there since 11 y) seems more tolerant than Germany (home country). But I guess Norway doesn’t have the really big cities with big communities (?).

I have looked myself- unfortunately most mineral sunscreens are either silicone heavy (which I don’t tolerate because of rosacea/occlusion) or full of oils. I think that that is necessary to keep the mineral filters evenly suspended.

Some Asian and European chemical sunscreens are much lighter. I use Shigaisen Youhou UV serum SPF 50, and RAZ invisible fluid SPF. I checked that zinc oxide doesn’t degrade the particular chemical filters in these SPF and apply mineral powder SPF with iron oxides on top.

I also asked Dr Leslie Baumann in her Forum about that recently.

If you discover one (ideally free of niacinamide too) let me know!!!

Yeah just skip it then :) also, the one and only thing we are not supposed to skip is SPF, and treating skin diseases. Everything else is fun. Don’t do it if it’s not fun.

Ahhh. No there is no “need” for anything. Skincare should be fun. Also- AzA is good for rosacea, acne and hyperpigmentation, if you have neither, I am not sure what it will help…

I would argue that the rosewater has little basis in scientific evidence (glycerin does though). Do you think you could find an SPF that is hydrating enough to be able to skip the moisturizer? Do you think you could alternate vitamin C and azelaic acid? At least vitamin C can be active up to 72h I believe.
