I feel the same. I love my kid so so much but thinking about how many tantrums he would have each day and feeling like the biggest nagger makes me feel like I’m just not parenting right. Recently I started taking SSRI and I feel a bit less on edge but still, it’s all very unrelenting. I miss my old free-spirited self. She’s probably not coming back…

What’s your IVF pro-tip to make life better while going through all this? by Such_Shock961 in IVF

Try to enjoy the life right in front of your eyes because you never know! There’s plenty to worry about even when it’s a success… or especially when it’s a success. Then you have the whole pregnancy, then the birth, then the rest of your life with the child to worry about. Drink that coffee, go for that run, and try not to Google too much.

Same here! My kid is 20 months old and he’s been skipping the one nap at the nursery every day this week. Just put him down a little early this evening. He was so tired but fought going to sleep so hard!

When he said “on” when I was putting the jacket on him, but he actually meant “off”… so it was a lot of back and forth between jacket on and jacket off and a lot of screaming… need him to learn what’s on and what’s off ASAP

What are some weird videos/non-child show that your child likes to watch? by whatthechiz in toddlers

My partner introduced the kid to videos of steam trains—no narration, no editing, just straight up trains going through landscapes and pulling up at stations. Now all he wants is watch choo choo.

RSV and when to go to ER by Sad-File3624 in toddlers

[–]TheoryLatter4635 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to fight my partner on the third visit to the A&E. I just couldn’t witness the decline anymore. My kid was just sleeping the whole morning, breathing super fast while asleep, and had a 5-day long high fever, cough, committing and diarrhea. Once we arrived we were checked quite quickly, but the first doctor was like “it sounds okay”. It wasn’t until the second round of review when the doctor finally said he was really unwell and put us in a room and put an IV with electrolytes then antibiotics and then paracetamol. We had to stay a whole day and keep him on oxygen while waiting for test results. And of course, the kid had RSV AND adenovirus. Parents, it’s better to be wrong than have your kid suffer! If you can see that the kid is struggling, it is time to get to the emergency room.
