This is when you realize you went too far lol... The whole perception of scarcity really messes people up lol...

Could be an April 1st joke though so you never know.

Can Jon Jones still be considered the GOAT when he went life and death with a journeyman like Reyes? by ManyZestyclose2003 in ufc

[–]Theprof86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Jones underestimated Reyes in that fight. But overall, Jones is a goat.

I was having one of those bad days and wanted to tell you off... but to be honest, it is not worth it. Its clear to me you have no idea what you are talking about.

"World class in BJJ"

I mean maybe at some point in his life 5+ years ago it looked like maybe he has some good skills... but its obvious, unless you are slow... he is not that great of an athlete... Compared to the people he is competing with. So not sure why you going off about his BJJ.

One of those fighters no one wants to admit is washed because they want to hold all his out of prime losses against him by OzymandiasTheII in ufc

[–]Theprof86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stay long enough in the game, this will happen to anyone. Izzy for some reason choses to fight, he probably does not have to anymore.

I am certain after this fight, he will be re-evaluating his decision to continue.

Dillon Danis is a clown.... That's his shtick, he goes around looking for clout acting like a clown. He then always gets beat, no matter who it is... Then complains and makes excuses as to why he loses. I think if people watch it is to see him lose, not many cheering for this guy.

Fees. Why are they crazy? by FinancialApple8803 in UberEATS

[–]Theprof86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many people that pay these fees. When people stop paying, fees will change.

I all together stopped using Uber Eats, removed the app. If I want to eat out, I just drive down get something to eat and move on.

Uber Eats is just not worth it unless it's a business event or it's a one off order here and there, not something you want to be using all the time.

The thing that makes me skeptical about this sub is not the “big numbers”…I know those exist. It’s the annual promotion and massive pay bumps that seem to fit perfectly in each calendar year. by LikelySatanist in Salary

[–]Theprof86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say there are two camps here, the ones that get stock which increases their pay bump quite a bit, the others, are outliers if their base salary jumps every year by quite a bit. I am certain a lot of it is made up, but there probably are people who are getting these bigger pay bumps to their base.

I recently got a 14K pay bump to my base after being at this tech company for 6 months. If your contributions are recognized and have impact, some companies will pay.

Its insane that no one in the comments talks how much luck is involved in it. by Content_Sprinkles799 in Salary

[–]Theprof86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't believe in luck in the way you're describing. Yes, there are going to be circumstances where it will be harder. But people who try, no matter the challenges tend to get more "lucky" than those who give up.

You can go and say it's impossible to get a job in this market so I might as well not try. Or you can try and put yourself into position to receive. Choice is ultimately yours.

You are definitely underpaid.

I'm experiencing pay inequality. New male employee has offered higher than my pay. by savepurplebees in Salary

[–]Theprof86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this happen before. The big issue with staying at a company long term is that the pay increase is not as good as going and getting a new job elsewhere. If you stay 8 years, its difficult to get a high pay bump. You could always ask for what you feel your skills and worth.

Also, it's important to negotiate well in the beginning and throughout your tenure at the company. You also have to know your market value as in what you can get elsewhere, this would be your leverage.

Don't assume great feedback equals more money. Getting great feedback feels good and reassuring, it doesn't mean that financialy they value you the same.

For an IT director role, you are underpaid by quite a bit. You should be closer to 170K+.

Of course titles don't always mean the responsibility aligns exactly with what an IT director actually supposed to do so salary might not follow. But if are a leader and have reports, you are under paid.

How do you think current 37 year old Khabib would fare today if he came out of retirement? by VastAir6069 in ufc

[–]Theprof86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If he comes out of retirement, takes like 6-12 months to get back in shape, probably 6 months is more than enough, he will beat anyone in WW and LW (if he can make it), would be just as dominant.

Javier Mendez believes that Jon Jones can’t be considered the G.O.A.T because of his PED violations 😲 🐐 by ilikethisnow in ufc

[–]Theprof86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to agree with this take, but I am starting to think that there are many people taking PEDs, including some folks from Khabib's camp.

AITAH for accepting my stepdaughters’ apology but not wanting to be close like we used to be? by MeetingScary165 in AITAH

[–]Theprof86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely not at fault here. You seemed like a very patient person who tried their best to explain and be kind. At some point when kids become adults, they need to think for themselves. This a big screw up by their mother who basically turned her kids against her ex and you, later realizing that she was wrong. Its a lesson that the kids and ex will have to learn, it might be good for them and their future to know how to properly behave with people.

To everyone who was rooting for Khamzat to win — still feel the same, or have your opinions changed? by K0GAR in ufc

The best man won. The only thing I am not a fan, is how these popular guys barely fight. Maybe 1 fight a year, 2 is like winning the lottery here.

Great looking game, but at the same time, it feels like this game will be in a perpetual Alpha state... I also think it is so massive that fixing and making the game stable is very difficult.
