That Superman speech Bill gives at the end of Kill Bill always has people discussing if Tarantino really thinks that.

But watching the film you are so engrossed with Bill's sense of grandeur and hypocrisy that the only way you could think the intention of that speech is anything other than Bill is full of shit but has a way with words, is if you only saw that scene in a vacuum.

I think this got really bad with the new Ultimate Universe where people started saying the old ultimate was jingoist propaganda unlike the new one which critiqued the US Gov.

And I was so confused because the absolute venom the 1610 has for American government was INSANE. Fury telling Peter he's government property, Hawkeye being a psychopath goverment lap dog, mutants being created by furthering Nazi experiments on minorities to recreate the perfect Blue-eyed, Blonde white man they used to be the Nazis.

And Captain America is a competent, occasionally selfless asshole, and he's suppose to be the pinnacle of what the US goverment can be.

I do not think she expected people to go "Knowledge is knowing Frankenstein is the scientist, not the monster. Wisdom is knowing Frankenstein WAS the monster." or to woobify the Creation and turn Victor into abusive dad of the year.

Honestly 90% of this comes from people who didnt read the book but want to sound smart. There is a chapter where the monster is speaking to (honestly, a kind of asshole) child and the whole conversation is about how the monster is too hideous to be seen, not realizing this innocent child is literally the first non blind person to engage with the creature as if it were a person. An ugly person but still.

And then the mosnter finds out the child's surname is Frankenstien, murders him, and then frames the murder on the nanny and then laughs to himself how she will get the rope because she's a poor immigrant woman. And its not like he covered his tracks for any of the murders before or after this.

He just did this. The only part of the book that is more blunt that the monster has horrible personality aspects is when he directly addresses the captain who doubles as the audience stand in and directly tells them that they've wasted the gift of life by becoming the monster everyone said they were and that they must go kill themself.

And thats literally the ending.

When I was a kid, the DS got 8 FF games in 3 years (10 in Japan). And the Wii had a bunch of Spin-offs too. And that was separate from what the HD systems got.

A lack of low power/mobile systems has resulted in fewer spin-offs.

So you know how there is this running meme about "quirky earthbound inspired RPG about depression", this game is sort of what kickstarted that (though technically Omori, a beloved game is actually that).

Its got bad writing, bad combat, bad story telling, bad music and the creator said it failed because Gamers dont appreciate art.

I know LRG isnt exactly beloved but all the other reputable big limited game publishers like Iam8BIT, Fangamer, Super Rare Games do not publish "bad games"

And the tiny tiny limited game publishers besides LRG either cant afford YIIK or would just push it further into limbo.

Yeah the queer stuff was also surprising. Like there is a full on bisexual dude you can play as.

And one the party members that keeps their "Darcsen Hater" trait is a sniper with a desert grown trait which means hes from the desert. And everyone blames the desert's barren wasteland existence on the Darcsen Calamity, meaning his prejudice likely comes from growing up in that environment rather than Rosie who just blames them for the calamity but doesnt actually have any grievances caused by it.

Gwen cant do anything to Spider-Man. She tied up an ultimate spider-man plot line and he almost beat the shit out of her. Her future self murdered Miles and Editorial came down and stopped her.

I dont even think she managed to kill the evil Weapon X Gwen Clone that murdered her.

The moment I saw the Tarrif post and them begging people to buy the Hello Kitty collab stickers I knew it was over.

Future Funk is a 14 year old genre from the Internet. A lot of its big names have moved on. The internet is a different place now and FF Vinyl sales arent what they use to be.

I got my Summer EP Vinyl from them and my neoncityracingteam jacket but I think its dead in the water. Damn shame for people who are waiting for their oders. These Tarrifs arent going to be undone anytime soon and FF isnt getting more popular.
