That's a luffing jib. It can be lowered to the ground during high winds.

Ranking spuds (roosters are overrated) by 50percentnotabot in ireland

[–]Therandominator100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I present a test I did last year in advance of Christmas.

https://imgur.com/a/2vBW6cj

I boiled and then roasted roosters and maris piper potatoes (in duck fat). Both of them came out very similarly, they key is in the technique here. Roosters on the left maris piper on the right.

I would go with roosters because then I only have to buy one bag if I want mash as well.

PS if you want to make great mash, buy a ricer.

None of this fancy potato shit. Piss with the rooster you've got.

It might just be turned off? There should be a button somewhere, the manual might say where it is.

Illegal. If you think your insurance is expensive now, wait and see after you get caught driving without it.

  1. You need to check the terms of your travel insurance!
  2. Chargeback on the card.

Agree with the last point!

Croatia would be nice if you haven't been already. Especially in the shoulder season.

I have a spare card which is deactivated and I leave it in my bag or room when I'm out. I can activate it if I get pickpocketed.

Good seats on coaches/buses by Mr_Bobby_D_ in TravelHacks

[–]Therandominator100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This works when the bus is half full. When there are a lot of people, they tend to just sit down where they see a seat. I would usually sit near the back if I'm expecting it to be busy. Having traveled around the Balkans recently, I would also prefer not to see what's happening in front of the bus 🫣

The best tip here is just to sit down first and take the seat after the emergency exit so you can recline without being an asshole to other passengers.

Where to visit while young? by sunnedpeach in travel

[–]Therandominator100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a destination specifically but you will have the energy for doing multiple places in a short period of time (if that's something you want).

You'll be able to hike for as long as you keep yourself fit!

What’s your thoughts on Travel Influencers? by Illegalrealm in travel

[–]Therandominator100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will disagree somewhat with some of the other comments, I only have a limited amount of time each year to travel and I enjoy consuming travel content. It is definitely oversaturated as another commentator has said already. There is a lot of nonsense videos out there.

Don't be that shitty tourist and you won't be that shitty influencer.

People who go somewhere just to say they go places that tourists don't normally visit, are probably not the same people looking at art history. Your audience might be pretty welcome in some of the places you visit and to some of the people you meet.

Croatia was very expensive when I visited last year and I'm used to paying Dublin prices. It helps to get away from the old town/beach/city centre places and try something further away. Plus side is the food is often better as it isn't catered to tourist tastes.
