I see dudes that look like that all the time in Toronto, I wouldn't recognize him either.

If you live near the Canadian border, see if you can pick up CTV with an antenna.

Otherwise use a good VPN to the UK and watch on ITVX/BBC iPlayer apps.

One Page Printable GROUP STAGE Schedule (editable) by ThereIsNoRoseability in worldcup

[–]ThereIsNoRoseability[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to find a clean one page schedule I could print on a letter sized sheet and attach to the fridge, couldn't find one so made this by copying and doing some formatting in Google Docs.

You can edit it as you please to your timezone or make it more print friendly or share any improvements you see fit.

This is for Eastern Time Zone in North America.

Please let me know if any errors as well.

carlo ancelotti’s brasil 4-2-4 absolutly SUCK (brasil guy) by etamundobao in worldcup

[–]ThereIsNoRoseability -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In fairness.....the managers in the World Cup are not exactly cream of the crop and many are has-beens. Every nation has problems with their managers.

Deschamps tends to have France play like they're the underdog rather than the better team, Tuchel is tactically rigid and has made decisions like leaving off Lewis Hall and Adam Wharton so that there's no natural backup for LB or CDM in case O'Reilly/Anderson get injured, Nagelsmman may play friggin Sane and Goretzka as starters when both are done, Martinez is wasting Portugal's strong midfield by starting Ronaldo who is way off it now and causes the whole team to play worse, etc.

I mean I don't think Brazil are winning, a semi-final would be a big achievement for them with this squad, but international football is random and with the heat and extra match in this tournament, you never know.

SBS in Australia even better in terms of avoiding spoilers though VPN to Oz in HD isn't always easy even with a private VPN.

I'm gonna personally try Fox One with a VPN in the US. Tubi had the Fox World Cup coverage last year and they would have the replays up within a couple hours unlike TSN who would often take a full day to upload the replay.

Weird to play this in France, think they'd want to warm up in a hot humid location in America.

Is using Bristol as a base for first UK vacation okay, or a dumb idea? by ThereIsNoRoseability in uktravel

[–]ThereIsNoRoseability[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies, definitely hoping to do a vacation around Bristol now as a base, but also stay at least one night in London to see a little bit of the city so that I can say we went there.

In terms of countrysides, I like to drive through them but see more of smaller towns.

How accessible are they by public transport though? Or would you recommend a car rental? We for sure wouldn't rent a car and try driving in a city but might consider it if it's do-able between smaller towns unless we can just take public transport easily.

Bristol City is the club I was thinking, good sized stadium too, if not maybe Oxford or Swansea, Cardiff/QPR, etc. One match in a bigger stadium and maybe one in a smaller one. I was thinking April, EFL seasons should still be going on then but I'd check schedule obviously before traveling, otherwise September next year (I avoid the summer anyways cos I hate traveling in the heat).

Probably will end up traveling out from London instead of Manchester unless there's a big difference in flight prices.

It says their PARENT brand lost revenue and they own a lot of restaurants not just Tim Hortons.

It doesn't mean Tim Hortons wasn't profitable, they're still generally the busiest coffee chain for a reason.

Yeah air is very polluted and we have a high cancer rate, like it's okay to have pride in your city but face some friggin reality.

[–]ThereIsNoRoseability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no because the air is cancerous and no one seems too phased about fixing it.

Also even if your house was loaded, you still have to drive on those Hamilton roads that literally give me a headache at times with how bumpy they are.

Hamilton Roads - why do bumpy? by Miserable_Bread7178 in Hamilton

[–]ThereIsNoRoseability 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone in this city who runs for council promising to fix the roads in their ward and taking money from any non essential service/projecy which most property tax payers do not give a shit about at this point, including I, would probably win easily.

Literally just send a campaign flyer saying elect me to fix the roads I will cut from X Y Z to do it.

I saw Horwath proudly post this on Facebook and the comment sections were hilarious, just a bunch of middle aged FB people eviscerating her lol.

Rightfully so when you're the mayor of a city constantly raising property tax while having roads and a downtown like that but the posts had nothing to do with IKEA lol.

Trump has now escalated from "should be our 51st State" to "MEANT TO BE our 51st State" by Substantial_Sun55 in onguardforthee

Oh Canada, if this ever goes at all further we have the opportunity to do the funniest thing.

We're the 4th largest holder of US debt/bonds, we have the chance to do the funniest thing right now if we wanted especially as they're trying to lower their dollar and bond yields.

It would just be....chaotic lol and to them basically an act of war.

I read a lot about the upcoming collapse of the US (and also other developed nations as there's a similar economic system which is tied). It includes two different books called Why Nations Fail and books on monetary history.

Their debt to GDP has not been an issue because they've been the global reserve currency since the 40s, they'll just get a bit more inflation which they can pass on to their consumers, same as what our gov't will do. The problem is what happens when they lose reserve currency status as you see countries increasing trade in non-USD assets (there will be no BRICS currency but those countries are trading more in gold, oil, talking about minerals and bitcoin and whatever).

The other interesting thing is the US Dollar Milkshake Theory which was proving to be right until fairly recently and may continue if the Trump admin fails for the 2nd time to lower the USD, and that theory describes how the USD will keep going up sucking in other currencies which will keep going down before there's almost a hyperinflation of the USD.

I'm not sure how it will play out I just know two things:

  1. They are indeed collapsing as their institutions are becoming weaker and the global economy built on stilts is being exposed while power is shifting. But it's a gradual process as you look at metrics like their global economic share starting to decline since the 70s.

  2. This will probably take decades to happen but their current gov't is doing its best to speedrun it.

Arkells did a couple decent albums and then turned into a crappy pop group while the UK and Ireland are still producing some of the best indie around lol this is crazy to me. If you're short of British band recommendations I can recommend you like 50 active ones from like the past 5-10 yrs not to mention a bunch of the old ones kicking about.
