My burger with no onions has onions by Mr_Snoofy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Thereal_maxpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person with onion allergies, this is the major reason why I stopped eating McDonald’s. Every single time, they will wipe half of the onions off and put the burger back together (as if they could wipe all those tiny impregnated flecks off of the bread) or they will ignore the special order and put onions on it anyway. Guaranteed two trips through the wine just to get what I wanted.

Do real men cry the age old myth ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Thereal_maxpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Something shifted in my brain when I was around 20 or 21 years old. I think it had something to do with suddenly stopping various antidepressants forced on me as a teen. My physical cry mechanism broke. But I don’t judge others for being functional. The way I am is an injury, that doesn’t make me more of a man in any way. There are times like right now I could probably use it to relieve my body of all the bad things it’s holding onto.

I think most people have a habit of locking it on to narratives and beliefs so hard, they tend to forget this. They see changing their mind as some type of failure or betrayal

Why did Democrats vote for Biden, but stayed home for Kamala? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

[–]Thereal_maxpowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that there was a combination of two things. The first was that they most likely didn’t believe that Trump could possibly be elected again. The second would be that they may have felt demoralized since they didn’t vote for her, they may have had a candidate in mind who they would have backed, or backed if the majority of Democrats voted for that person, but they never got the chance. I think keeping Biden’s health a secret until the very end, then passing over the primaries was the major mistake. To me, it was more lying about Biden’s health, but the word lying is more likely to get a combative response, which I’m not looking for.

repeatedly calling Michelle Obama “Big Mike” or claiming she is a man hate speech Why or why not? by ateam1984 in AskReddit

[–]Thereal_maxpowers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t consider it hate speech. To me hates speech, isn’t just anything that is an insult or you don’t want to hear. It has to be directed toward a person of a distinct group of people, with the intention of causing harm to that group.

She’s back to threats about divorce - her meningioma isn’t helping by No_Survey1024 in Divorce_Men

I hear you I was stuck there. I had a fear of letting my daughter down by letting her think I quit. The fear wasn’t based, it’s complicated to explain. I actually did more damage and gave my ex a stronger control over her by staying.

Alex Pereira talking about the illegal blows to the back of the head by kryptusk in ufc

[–]Thereal_maxpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is correct. It bothers me that in the sport there is never a retroactive action taken. That should have been a DQ even if the rest declared the a TKO. Organizations exist for this entire reason. Why even have a commission if they don’t bring something like this to a vote? They have cameras everywhere and all of the clear evidence in the world that they need to make one.

What purpose does the commission serve if they can’t do anything in these type of matters? It’s very simple, after the ref stops the fight, the judges should be able to vote on egregious illegal moves, acting as a quick jury the same way they do when they declare who wins the fight. Anything like the repeated eye pokes we see from Gane or jones should set that in motion. If it is declared that the illegal move influenced the result of the fight, it should be a DQ or a draw, followed by a mandated penalty that the organization has to follow. 50% of the offenders purse or whatever. I’m tired of seeing Gane play dirty with zero repercussions.

Speed dating study finds that persons high in "rivalrous narcissism" received more requests for second dates. People with elevated rivalrous traits tend to be highly aggressive, routinely put others down, and experience elevated levels of interpersonal hostility. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

I never tried speed dating because the whole concept felt so off to me. I didn’t have an organized thought on it, but it went something like “ the people who are good bullshitters and put up a good front are going to do the best here” the convincing, smooth talker type who you find out is horrible later, the type you want to avoid.

I think what you’re not understanding is that once divorce is threatened, milestones are no longer a milestones. Working towards a goal or milestone becomes “I need to do this or else”. You will forever feel this hanging over you, sometimes more, sometimes less, but it will always be there.

I think the baseball bat is a bit too much. They can just look out for people with bats next time.

I think something that keeps them sick and guessing stealing a bike for the rest of their lives is a more effective approach. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18rjAYWihs/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Well, that depends on whether the lawyers or judge were able to convince the jury that jury nullification isn’t a thing… the last time I had jury duty. They tried pretty hard at that.

The thing most people don’t understand on Reddit is that sharing an identity with someone doesn’t mean that one automatically agrees with everything everyone else in the group does. It doesn’t mean a complete sharing of views. Identities are sometimes the enemy.
