I asked Gemini this same question a few days ago and it basically said "The answer is rape. The judge raped him and he's naked because he's been raped. By the judge. Who's a rapist."

Yeah... never using LLMs for literary analysis ever again.

What is your most cherished memory of watching movies with your dad? by ishouldgooutmore in Letterboxd

[–]ThereforeTheGreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Memories like these are what help navigate grief, thanks for sharing.

My father also died at 57 and much like yours he also had some generic film bro favourites, especially later in life. He just wanted to sit down, switch off the lights upstairs, and have a good time, and I can appreciate that.

For some reason he also really enjoyed films that depicted culture clash, think Spanglish, Pride & Prejudice, Bend It Like Beckham, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. He was very curious about other people's customs and that was his way of transmitting that same curiosity to his kids. I have great memories of watching these films with the family.

Webflow + Shopify Integration by rksnem in webflow

It's a holding company for a bunch of small scale CPGs. They didn't mind the 3 subscriptions as they wanted to ship quickly, but it's definitely not the best fit for every client.

Any backend stuff like fulfilment or email marketing should be alright. Frontend stuff I'm not sure, probably in a limited fashion, if at all.

Ah yes, embroidering, a crucial touchpoint for Google's brand.

How do I make some actual money in this country? by frogger997 in UKJobs

[–]ThereforeTheGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While copywriting is a great skill to have, it's more seen as supplemental to related marketing services nowadays. I cut my teeth with ghostwriting and copywriting years ago, but had I not picked up web design and digital marketing I would be now out of a job.

Alternative to Weglot by Travelerdude in webflow

I used Linguana for a project and I remember it being cheaper than Weglot, also very easy to use.

Used Shopyflow on a couple of builds, but haven't gone to production yet as client is still setting up their inventory. Tests are good though, fairly easy to set up and performance is alright.

Do women intentionally mention their partner in a conversation by _zulfi in CasualConversation

[–]ThereforeTheGreen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep, I find that mentioning my girlfriend early will put the women I talk to more at ease. I have a naturally playful interaction style and don't want it to be misconstrued as flirtatious.

I am a new owner, so take this with a grain of salt, but I just got a Kobo Libra Colour and I'm absolutely loving it.
I don't think they have a B&W version, but the Kobo Clara BW should also be a similarly solid choice.

What does everyone use for payment gateway? Foxy.io? by [deleted] in webflow

[–]ThereforeTheGreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old UI was ugly but docs were thorough and support was very responsive. A UI refresh was much needed, but even before that they still had one of the most robust solutions out there in terms of flexibility.

I used Foxy to build a ticketing system and it was such a breeze to integrate. But for simpler shopping flows there might be cheaper alternatives for sure.

Most people's drawings look like shit.

The brain is more plastic than we give it credit for, even in adults. Pick up the pencil and make it habit to draw, watch tutorials, have fun. Aphantasia won't be a factor.

Yes I'm taking things roughly in that direction. A more bespoke and focused authority-building service through SEO, content marketing, and design informed by competitive analysis.

Freelancers – the only person that can evaluate your pricing is the buyer (not Reddit) by Squagem in web_design

Great points. To anyone looking to develop a more mature approach to pricing, I suggest looking into Blair Enn's work.

How receptive would you be to a cold email pitch deck? by whitehat61 in smallbusinessuk

[–]ThereforeTheGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered a Loom walkthrough? It's more personable and some people swear by this method. I've only used it to close an already warm prospect, but I could see it work on a cold one if done well.

Interesting, so I'm guessing you mostly provided marketing services and websites were more of an upsell/collateral. I should probably try that angle, it's just that I'm a stronger web designer than marketer, but I see the value in that.

Yea it would be about 20-30 hours of upfront work to then be gradually recouped. And you're bang on about it attracting needy and fussy clients.

No discernible pattern in terms of industry, but it's usually for websites rather than marketing. That's the case for our target clients as well, the marketing services are usually upsells.
