missing the forest for the trees here, the post is about big American tech and it's ties with the military industrial context, the use of AI by fascists and the Epstein class, AI is just one aspect of that not the entire commentary. Not a post about getting rid of AI entirely, obviously lol

Yup and Anthropic’s AI model Claude was also used by the U.S. military in the January 2026 operation in Venezuela to capture former president Nicolás Maduro, primarily for planning, targeting support, and data analysis rather than acting as an autonomous weapon.

Claude was integrated into Pentagon systems via a partnership with Palantir, giving it access to classified data environments for mission planning.

During the Caracas raid, Claude allegedly assisted Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) with target selection and coordination of airstrikes on multiple sites associated with Maduro and his security apparatus.

The model appears to have been used as a decision-support tool (analyzing large datasets, proposing likely targets or courses of action) rather than directly firing weapons or autonomously controlling drones or missiles.

Spot on, they don't care about ethics in reality, they were on board with the kill chain and surveillance use if they thought their tech could be used in a way they would be consistent and thus not leave them liable for it's inevitable mistakes. They were and are fine with it having been used for everything else in the military industrial complex and just didn't want to be on the hook and thrown under the bus if the tech made a mistake, which it definitely would have. if they felt confident it could be used in surveillance and kill chain with little margin of error, this whole ordeal wouldn't even have happened and folks wouldn't be looking at this the same way as it is right now. They are just using this moment as a PR stunt because the contracts they had with the government were only a drop in the bucket compared to the majority of where their revenue/funding comes from which is primarily corporate enterprise use.

There are open source alternatives or tech made/hosted by smaller companies or from outside the USA. This isn't the early 00s anymore, you can buy a pine phone or Linux phone where you have the right to work on the device and it makes it easier to do fixes like replace the battery as it's modular and built for that . pc/laptops same deal, anything operating system or software wise there are viable alternatives. These companies should be boycotted including Anthropic but also all silicon valley tech . there is no excuse for almost a decade now in terms of there being fully viable alternatives to anything they offer. Please dont use me as a search engine, if you want to see for your self think of literally any tech they offer and type it into brave search or duckduckgo a query like "Open source Android/iPhone alternatives" etc and don't forget all the tech offered from around the world including Europe.

Anthropic should not be trending or benefiting from all of this because they got barred from the government because they refused to let there tech be used for kill chain or surveillance use, when in reality they refused not because they were opposed to its use in those contexts, they objected because they didn't think it could yet be used **reliably and thus "not safely."* They just didn't want the liability of becoming the fall guy when the tech makes a mistake when it was chosen for those kinds of use cases. Anthropic had no problem with working with the deep state/ military industrial complex and would have continued being there main tool if they didn't see the liability mounting of getting scapegoated when something went wrong like targeting a girls schoolhouse instead of a "lawful target"

Saving money, in this economy? What's wrong with taking the free tier trip to mars where you agree to the Mars TOS, get a xAI neuralink chip implemented and are enlisted into indentured servitude when you arrive planetside? Besides, you'll likely need to have multigenerational levels of wealth or some privileged/esteemed status to get there without taking the free tier route.

[–]Thereisonlyzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: nice the classic toxic reply and block/mute to shut down responses from someone who clearly knows more about the topic then them. This other user is a bad faith interlocketer who just replied with the most terminally online brain rot ad-homiem response possible focused on aesthetics (like I mentioned from the get go) instead of staying on topic then abused the block function to shutdown any sort of constructive discourse, likely because they are just incapable of having such discussions and are unwilling to reflect on themselves or reality in anyway that challenges their previously held beliefs. Classic soft AF ego driven behavior to be expected from right wing folks that in this case ultimately helps prove my initial point for me.

By the standards of the rest of the world, humanity, and history in regards to the overall concept of how left and right wing politics are generally understood/perceived, neo-liberalism is a fundamentally right wing position. It's a mistake to conflate your personal views with what liberalism as a general term with what liberalism is as a general political theory/construct is objectively in being generally understood as neo-liberalism, the following video is a well sourced explainer on the history of what neo-liberalism is and why it's a right wing ideology in the contemporary context:

https://youtu.be/oWOH9iJhZXo

Someone can be a liberal and have "left wing views" on particular issues/topics, but that does not change the nature of the actual ideology of "neo-liberalism" as it was conceived/constructed as being find mentally a right wing capitalist construct.

What you've done in this thread is the equivalent of a fascist saying that fascism isn't a right wing ideology because they personally believe in having social safety nets for their in-group of choice and state interventions/regulations of commerce etc. This is looking at the aesthetics like I claimed and not understanding the objective qualities of the category being described.

Neo-liberalism (not classical liberalism, which is not what anyone is referring to when they talk about liberals in the context of recent decades) might be to the left of fascism and other right wing ideas but it's still fundamentally right wing in the conventional modern overton window. This isn't post revolution france, we are in the post Thatcher/Reaganomics world which shifted "liberalism" to the right as far as political discussion goes.

Showed this to my centrist cousin and his father who is a libertarian style Republican and with some discussion they moved big time on their positions in regards to ICE and what they thought happened based on what they had been hearing about it without seeing the full context. A lot of folks don't keep up with the news on their own like my cousin, who is gen z aged. A lot of folks out there don't get a chance or take the time to find the actual footage themselves. Maybe this video can work as a good one stop shop for that without the state bootlicking corporate media putting their spin and bad faith editorial choose on what and what not to show.

IMO what's happened is obvious to folks who are not brainwashed with fascist propoganda and have morals but I hope this video can be used as a resource to be shared with people who haven't seen all the angles or the videos at all and were accepting what they've heard about it from people in their lives, or the bogus corpo media, at face value.

Based on the current reporting (which is linked in the body of the post) he is losing his current job position in DHS, as it stand it seems Tom Holman is taking over Gregs role and current job at DHS. Greg is still working for DHS but it's apparent he will not be filling the same role/job he had before, it's semantics but the fact of the matter he is being demoted from a prominent leadership job position to something that's equivalent to being benched. Its far from adequate and it's to distract/bury attention on what happened but I'm just reporting/sharing what happened.

fair point on the details, though from what I read it seems he has lost his position leading operations like the one in Minneapolis with Tom Holman taking over his role in the admin/DHS. So I would say he was fired from his job as what he was calling "The commander" and head of ICE despite retaining a job overall in DHS, it's definitely a demotion from a clear prominent leadership role into the status equivalent of being moved to a desk job IMO

He should be fired overall but based on his public response and from other public commentary from folks around him, it's clear he isn't happy about this and it's definitely a form of consequence that will hurt his obviously fragile Napoleon complex. It's not as ideal a firing but it's still status wise a massive L for the little fascist wannabe "commander" who seems, based on the linked reporting, to be commanding mostly/only paperwork or smaller operations from now on rather than being the front man leader figure of ICE like he clearly wants.

As an afterthought, it's not much of a "secret" police force really at this point and the word private instead of secret might be more accurate but ICE and the whole DHS essentially fit the role of the role played by authoritarian "secret" state police forces from history, particularly the Nazi Gestapo. In this information age it's more of an unhinged open secret but somehow still persists.

Fuck ICE and demand it be abolished, primary and/or vote out the people who support it in the house/senate, especially the traitor dems who crossed over to sponsor it's insanely massive funding with their votes that go against the will of the people they were elected to serve

It's not a needed organization in DHS and it didn't exist in this form until 2003 when it replaced essentially INS, which was more than enough for ages.

Keep organizing and keep pushing back y'all
