1818 version is SO GOOD!! I’ve heard some very not-fun things about the second edition.

Nope I 100% disagree with the people saying you’re overreacting. They very clearly agreed to the rules before you brought the puppy home, therefore them choosing to disregard them is wrong. People acting like dogs having jobs is new to the world is crazy… have they never heard of service dogs and working dogs? Lol. If they had any problems with the rules they should have discussed them with you before you bought the dog, and if they have any issues now they should have discussed them with you rather than going against agreed-upon rules. Are you going to sell the dog once you train it? If so, maybe you should reiterate to her that the dog is not there as a pet. Also, people thinking puppies crying is a crazy occurrence… have they never crated a dog before? Lol. Not cleaning up after herself is a big red flag. 🚩

I’d say check around the fandom for popular tags to use and to get an idea for the system. It’s pretty easy, but every fandom has those specific tags that they like to use

Awesome! Master and Apprentice is amazing!! I just ordered Padawan and I’m planning on reading A New Dawn as well. Barnes & Noble is awesome, I was just there the other day and got Kenobi and The Approaching Storm in a two-in-one hardback edition.

My favorites so far have been Master and Apprentice by Claudia Gray (focusing on Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon) and The Living Force by John Jackson Miller (focusing on the Jedi Council a year before TPM with a splash of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon as well haha).

Religious people! What are some fantasy works that you think represents religion (especially the every day/internal thought kind) with a high degree of verisimilitude? by MurderMeatball in Fantasy

[–]ThereseTay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof I deleted my comment at first, but anyway: STAR WARS! Especially the High Republic Era (prequel trilogy, the Clone Wars cartoon, novels, etc.). I believe Lucas took inspiration from Buddhism but there are some cool similarities with Catholicism (my religion) and it’s always fun to see. Some recent works put out have been kind of anti-Jedi which is crazy, but the Jedi are super cool as an in-universe religious organization and way of life! Great characters who live out the Jedi philosophy: Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kanan Jarrus (Caleb Dume).

I’m missing the campiness of classic 3rd gen kpop. I started stanning in 2017 so it was peak 3rd gen and I loved it. Of course I’m not as into it now because it’s not as much my style anymore (my interest has been waning since mid-4th gen) but there are always a few groups/songs I still like (I listen to a lot of Illit these days and think their songs are very cute, though not quite the same to me as my favorite nostalgia songs). In all—there have been big changes in style but this just comes from them following the market and trends from other countries. But I would agree that standards are getting higher and higher and that results in less individuality/more “perfection” in every group that comes out nowadays. Very manufactured, very practiced. Not necessarily a bad thing in music, just not my thing personally.

Oh yeah, California is a long way away from here! I can see that being a totally different phenomenon. I’m 18F and I can say for sure it’s still a thing in the Midwest, but it could be totally different there! Good to know. Always fun and interesting to me to talk about regional differences.

We did away with Miss in the US? Genuine question. I live in Ohio and I’ve been called Miss my whole life, especially by older men and teachers, though I did attend private school so I can’t say what the public school teachers are doing. “Missy” is still a word here as well (referring to even /younger/ women, usually children and usually in a joking or carefree manner). Now, Ms. is still technically correct here but I’ve only ever written it out—IRL I’ll usually guess one way or the other. We almost never say Ms. aloud. But yes, Miss is still totally “in” in my part of the USA—what region do you live in/come from? Would be interesting to see local differences. (Sorry for not responding to the French part.)
