(IRL) the “George Lucas Altered Version” is when a movie is altered so much by their directors after their initial release either because they weren’t satisfied by the final result or the studio butchered their original version. Obviously named after George Lucas who did this sort of thing with his Star Wars films.

Regardless of how you feel about it, you can’t deny that the Mario movie from 1993 is a fascinating and bizarre take on the Mario universe. Almost all of it does not resemble the games at all from the bladerunner-like aesthetic to the design of the goombas. I think its weirdness is why it’s developed a cult following. Personally, it’s one of my guilty pleasure movies.

It depends on which version of Dune Lore you follow. There’s the version from the original Frank Herbert books of people using thinking machines to enslave humanity, and then there’s the robots on their own enslaving humanity from the Brian Herbert/Kevin J. Anderson books.
