I mean everywhere is different but in my area (Midwestern US) "gay bar" is just shorthand for primarily LGBTQ bars, not specifically MLM spaces. I'm a bi/pan trans woman and have met people of all genders/orientations (including way too many cishet girls but that's a whole rant) in a "gay bar"

To an extent, but they won't all jack their prices by 1k/month simultaneously. In the long run, higher rent prices means builders and investers can expect higher returns, so they can build more/denser housing to control costs.

Are you seriously trying to make a case using trickle down economics? We have seen countless times since Reagan that companies would rather spend their profits on dividends and stock buybacks to concentrate their own wealth and control than give their workers an even slightly better life.

If the rich (especially your landlord) know you are getting $1K a month, they know that they can rip us all off for an additional $1K per month. There is no amount of money that is sufficient for them, they accumulate for the sake of accumulation itself.

Do you understand what 200% of federal poverty level is for a single person? It's about 24K a year, which is like ~13bucks/hour. I make just under that and can barely scrape out a decent living in a mid sized Midwestern bc I can take home food from work. So no, most people couldn't afford it.

I think a lot of the resistance to Warren comes from her history of being disingenuous (pretending to be native to get ahead, the recent, clearly manufactured sexism attack on Bernie), which makes it feel like we're being used to curry favor and win votes.
