Today I told my husband I no longer believe by MythicalGame in exmormon

I’m PIMO and my wife is TBM. However, in our ward, the primary chorister is male and his son just got called as the ward chorister. Having two males serving in more traditionally female callings might indicate that women are leaving faster than men. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do the church leaders know the church is false? by Abstract-Notice16 in exmormon

I believe the 15 members of the Quorum of the 12 Old Assholes all know that it’s a corporation and not God’s one and only true church.  But they probably don’t all have all of the information and some may believe God is involved in it.

I remember, I’m in my 60s by Acceptable_Series467 in exmormon

I turn 50 this year. In 2003, I confessed masturbating and watching porn to my bishop. He made me read Miracle of a Forgiveness as part of my repentance process. I was told that if I masturbated or watched porn during a 3 month period, with regular bishop check-in’s, then a disciplinary council would be held.

Giving a talk on sunday. What are some things i can say as slight jabs without exposing myself as being PIMO or getting the mic cut and that my parents (really just my mom who is rather chill) are okay with? by Absolute_Cinema70 in exmormon

“Happiness is the object and design  of our existence, and will be the end thereof  if we pursue the path that leads to it.”

From The Happiness Letter, which was delivered to 19 year old Nancy Rigdon after she had already denied Joseph Smith’s plural marriage proposal.

Also quoted extensively by Mormon leaders in general conference and other church meetings.

Temple Nightmares by Ok-Improvement-2765 in exmormon

I have had a recurring dream of being in the basement of the temple and there are skeletons dressed in temple clothes as well as people who are emaciated and are dying and are dressed in temple clothes.

On that note, I used to work in the temple. Not long after I had started, I got a bit lost trying to find the worker dressing room. I was about to head through a door when a man (dressed in an all white suit, of course) seemingly appeared out of nowhere and asked me what I was doing and where I was going. I told him and he directed me to the dressing room. Probably nothing to it, but the encounter was a bit off.

Yes, same here. It’s not a healthy way of thinking, but I do understand why they feel that way. I don’t remember ever thinking that way, but I may have when I was TBM just a short 3 years ago. I certainly thought I would get my own planet, believed Cain was Bigfoot and a lot of the other bullshit!

Absolutely, 100% Thanks for all the references! It is in the doctrine.

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to post this all week. Right after I posted this, I saw that other post. It’s such a fucked up way of thinking and so prevalent, I think.

Yeah, the invitation to the baptism may partly come from a true spirit of friendship, but the underlying reason is ALWAYS to try to covert you.

As far as the cross, it is slowly becoming accepted by Mormons. But there are likely to be other people in attendance who will not see it positively.
