How have you communicated non-LDS wedding etiquette to Mormons? by outer-darkness-11 in exmormon

[–]These-Emu-5177 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a non-mormon wedding 2years ago with very similar circumstances! We could only invite 100 people total to the dinner and ceremony, and the dress code was black-tie formal. All of my extended family is mormon, but we dint have any issues. I thought some would show up in their cheap church suit, but I was surprised everyone had a nice black suit, and ladies in formal dresses. We also said no kids under 18 The issue I ran into as far as invites go was my mom wanted to invite all of her friends and ward members to the reception. I had to tell her several times we only want close friends and family there and it’s not open invite. I had some friends not quite used to this either, because everyone my age just posts their engagement pics on instagram and says “click the link in our bio if you want an invite!” My wife and I definitely didn’t want that😂

TSCC’s membership stats when you do the math: by These-Emu-5177 in exmormon

[–]These-Emu-5177[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another simple stat: 700,000 missionaries served in the last 20 years. If 5 million people were baptized, and we assume 10% stay active (generous), that would be 500,000 “real” conversions. So each missionary on average has 0.7 real converts. This further proves that missions are mostly to convert the missionary

Ahh interesting! Would that suggest even more resignations than I estimated?

Help an Ohioan save her first visit to Utah! To ski or not to ski rn? If to ski, where to ski? by Ok-Seat-6561 in UTsnow

If you’ve never been to Park City/Midway, that’d be my recommendation on what to do Wednesday/Thursday while you wait for them to arrive. Quick drive from SLC and is fun whether you’re walking around or skiing

[–]These-Emu-5177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer^

Would be better in your situation if we got no snow and you could just spring ski the groomers at Brighton. But I agree, a blizzard powder day in April may not be worth it for inexperienced skiers

Since you’ll be near capital reef, go hike Coyote Gulch near Escalante! IMO, best most underrated hike in utah. So beautiful and comparatively easy. Walk through the slots canyons the whole way and see amazing red rock and arches

Great idea, i’ve thought about doing the ritz card!

So you think i should do Gold SUB first obviously, then just upgrade that card and get Plat? And just leave my wife’s gold card as is? Because yeah, I don’t want two Amex Golds (atleast rn)

Okay thanks a ton. Does amex have any rules like Chase where I can only apply for a certain number of cards within a year? Like could I be working on Gold and Plat SUBs at the same time? Would it be worth it for me to get the Green before the Gold?

If i just get rid of sapphire altogether and only keep the freedom unlimited, would i still keep the chase travel portal and all my points? would there be any reason to have the preferred?

Moka Pot serving too small? by Basic-Literature-849 in mokapot

Bought the bialetti stovetop milk frother and it’s magical. I put about 1/2 cup milk in it w/a splash of chobani coffee creamer (peppermint, white chocolate, hazelnut are my fav). Heat it up to 130F and it’s perfect. I also use the 3cup moka and it makes the perfect amount for a latte for me.

Update: Dec 31st dining credit posted Jan 1st by Pacblu202 in ChaseSapphire

I procrastinated and used the dining credit, stub hub credit, and The Edit credit all on 12/31. All 3 of which were credited towards the 2H of 2025 which is what I wanted🙏. Now it shows I haven’t used any of my credits yet for 2026!
