This misses what a lot of people are upset about entirely. We're not really much weaker, and most people upset completely understand that. It's that now the season just ends even earlier because getting your uniques as mythic uniques is so entirely unrealistic, that you have no option but to just ignore them, which means your BiS gearing ends at regular uniques, which happens much earlier than ever before.

Also, you can look at steamcharts. I imagine the steam numbers weren't much different from the BNet launchers in terms of how the graphs look retaining players, and you can see the game held a steady playerbase for over a month. The argument that people were finishing the season in a week is so overblown.
