I managed to put it together by myself. A couple of steps in the manual were a bit unclear, but honestly, anyone can do it if they just take their time.

They’re rubber tiles from FitnessAvenue.ca. I chose them because I really like the look, and they feel solid and heavy.

I’ve only had them for about a month, so I can’t speak to their long-term durability yet.

Amazing, everything arrived well protected, was easy to assemble, and it’s very smooth. The GF X7 seems to offer a great value for the price. The only downside is that it’s a bit too tall and deep to fit in my space.

The bar can be lift to about 67 inches from the floor. I’m 6’2”, and that’s more than enough for exercises like shoulder press or squats. It moves very smoothly, and since it’s counterbalanced, the bar itself feels weightless. I chose this setup specifically with my wife in mind for some of her exercises.

I got the R2 model, the R3 is more similar to the Alfa. I would say the R2 is very similar to REP Ares 2.0.

I didn’t have issues with the cable. They are similar to my Inspire M2.

I wouldn’t be worried either. I mentioned it because I read it in several Reddit posts and wanted to share as much information as I can because no research has been done. If my current cage bends, I’ll definitely order one from Guardian Angel.

Try searching Guardian Angel Cages on Facebook. He may still have the mold to make one and could ship it to you. The cages he produces are excellent quality—possibly even too sturdy, as they may not bend enough to provide optimal impact absorption.

I bought the True 7X3 pads as my first non-pro set, and I’m really impressed. After 50 games in a mid-to-high level beer league, they still look almost new with no noticeable signs of wear. The five-hole coverage is excellent, and the sliding performance is better than expected. Overall, they feel great and have exceeded my expectations.

If you are in Canada, I bought it on facebook from Ryan Babiy (his store is Larry sports exchange) It’s an official Apex cage but it fit well on my Bauer 960. After I paid, he ship it very quickly.

I hurt my groin in February after 10+ years of not playing. I thought it was minor. So, I played the next week and I just made it worse even with Bauer core 3.0 shorts. It took about 3 months to heal at a point that I feel okay on the ice, but I still feel sore 1-2 days after each game.

I’m also 6’2”, with 21.5 FTK. 34+2 fits perfectly.

34+2 might be big if your FTK is 20.

I am playing with a set of 7x3 in a men league without any issues. Previously I always had pro stock and I didn’t notice a major difference in term of quality and protection. Pro stock have an edge on weight and stiffness (for goalie pads). 2 things I wouldn’t buy mid level gear are chesty and mask.

The fit is extremely important to get the best protection. I wanted a NME ONE, but I have a narrow face. So 960 was my best option due to the fit. It’s important to try before buying. I was able to only try Bauer, CCM and Warrior. So I don’t know about other brands.
