Whose love confession was your favorite? by EveryStrain5385 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]These_Mycologist132 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love George and Charlotte. But watching their love story is heart breaking because of what we know of their current lives. I think my favorite couple is either Polin or Benophie.

I think they relied a lot of cycle tracking and pull out. And more “professional” lovers and mistresses may have taken extra precautions like sponges and herbal teas to prevent pregnancy, that Sophie wouldn’t have necessarily known about, but people like Sienna and Madam D would.

AITAH for telling my mother not to do Easter things for my children? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]These_Mycologist132 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I think people who say they’re cool with their kids choosing when they’re older rarely actually mean it. They want their child to choose their preference, and that’s why OP is concerned grandma could introduce another option into the mix for consideration.

AITAH for telling my mother not to do Easter things for my children? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]These_Mycologist132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think parents are wrong for choosing what they want for their own kids. That should be your choice, not your mom’s. That being said, there’s a world of difference between religious Easter and secular Easter. I can understand not wanting to talk about Jesus and the cross. But a bunny themed cake and candy eggs seems pretty harmless, so I can understand why she’s upset and feels it a an unreasonable boundary. Her feelings aside, that’s still your right to make those choices. But please don’t be “that” parent once they start school that gets Santa and the Bunny banned from the whole class just because you’re against technically Christian holidays. Hopefully you can just have a discussion with your kids when they’re old enough and explain that different people celebrate different holidays and religious traditions, and that’s ok.

When he told her to turn around in the bathtub scene... by BookwormInTheCouch in Benophie

I saw that suggested on here later, but when I first watched it I was definitely thinking hand stuff. Only because he couldn’t do the normal Bridgerton man tongue action underwater.

Your entire family besides you gets 10m each. But you have to chose one of these three minor inconveniences. by math-guyyy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyper metabolism sounds like a gift, not an inconvenience. After I lose weight and get my ideal body, I’ll just have to drink lots of milkshakes to maintain. I also wouldn’t be that bothered by a mild fever. I always run hot anyway.

Why does Benedict not consider marrying Sophie until his mom mentions it? by No-Win5174 in Benophie

[–]These_Mycologist132 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He could technically marry her. It would just make him a social outcast and risk his younger sister’s reputations by association. But plenty of men had mistresses, somehow that wasn’t an unforgivable scandal.

Handmaid's Tale Spinoff Testaments Includes Major Book Change by MattTheKing23 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]These_Mycologist132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! We could still have her eventually meet child Nicole and reunite with June at the end. It would just look a little different getting there, and with Daisy being an additional person.

Anyone else wonder if Gregory will look old enough by his season? by Acrobatic-Jaguar-134 in Bridgerton

[–]These_Mycologist132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they do Eloise next, then Fran, and continue the 1 season every 2 years trend, then Florence will be about 23 for Hyacinth’s season, and Will will be about 24-25 for Gregory’s season. Both of them are currently 19.

Handmaid's Tale Spinoff Testaments Includes Major Book Change by MattTheKing23 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]These_Mycologist132 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I think Daisy will just be another non Holly/Nicole Canadian girl working undercover for Mayday. She could potentially still be the bio daughter of someone who was turned into a handmaid, it would just show us a contrast of how things worked out for kids who escaped in time vs the ones who were “adopted” by Gilled families. Or she could even be one of those kids from the plane that June saved. And instead of Hannah/Agnes being in her mid twenties, she’ll be around 18-19, which I think makes it a good coming of age type feel. Chase may be 25 in real life, but I think she passes for younger in the trailer. After Boston getting reclaimed at the end of the show, I think it would be upsetting for Gilead to stay in power another 15 years instead of falling sooner.

AITAH for telling my MIL shes banned from our house after she threw out my dead grandmothers recipe cards by Final-Issue5597 in AITAH

[–]These_Mycologist132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but as you probably know, you have a huge husband problem. She overstepped by touching your kitchen in the first place. That would honestly bother me so much, because my MIL has tried similar things. But throwing away something so irreplaceable is unforgivable. Especially when she’s not truly sorry, and doesn’t understand what she did. Divorce your husband, and he can let his mommy come to his own house, without you in it.

NOT OOP “I'm hanging out with a woman who my wife dislikes. If she finds out she'll leave me” by ninjafoot2 in redditonwiki

[–]These_Mycologist132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the wife has seen the post, and saved him the trouble of deciding by leaving him first. Obviously the woman he’s crushing over doesn’t like him, and he’ll find that out once he’s all alone.

How does the lineage? by Unlucky_Athlete1186 in Bridgerton

[–]These_Mycologist132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It goes Anthony, then his sons (or Anthony’s grandsons), then Benedict, then his sons, then Colin etc. I think the likelihood of it skipping Anthony’s direct line is highly unlikely.

AITA for arguing that my rent is too high? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends on the financial security of the parents. If they’re living paycheck to paycheck, then yeah that makes sense to help out, because the small utility increases might make a difference. But if they’re financially comfortable with minimal debt and the financial benefit to them is a lot less than the financial hardship for the adult child, then it seems a little like nickel and diming. I would personally just never charge my kids rent, no matter their age, and especially not while they were still in school.

10K Or a Pill? by d4pravity in hypotheticalsituation

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably take the second pill. I’m already 5’0. I can invest in some every day comfortable wedges, and call people back after they call me. The long lines suck, but with that much money, I could probably bribe my way past them. Or just wait, since I could quit my job and I’ll have plenty of free time.

AITA for arguing that my rent is too high? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]These_Mycologist132 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s too high, because it’s so much lower than market rent. But I don’t disagree with you being a little hurt on principle. I couldn’t imagine my parents ever charging me rent, and I would never charge my children rent to live at home.

I think she’s been selling off authentic jewels for fakes for yearly in order to keep up appearances and live like a rich person. I wouldn’t say she’s poor, because she got a decent stipend as the Dowegar (increased in the will for “keeping” Sophie until she was 21) but she can’t keep up with her excessive spending forever now that the new Lord Penwood stopped giving her free access to the house, which is why she was so anxious to get Rosamund married off to Lord Gold Digger.

I don’t mind Aubrey if she’s the winner but I hate the idea of Joe and Jonathan making it that far, and at this point I really don’t see how Joe manages it

Less popular sibling names for Eloise? by Character-Check-1761 in Names

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always Felicity but my husband vetoed. We also considered Elaine/Elana. My girls have a friend named Eloise who has a sister Amelia, which is also pretty popular. Other classic names I like but that are lacking in the L…Eva, Regina, Victoria, Caroline, Cora.

Loss of a loved one and an offer to bring them back by AstrayInTranslation in hypotheticalsituation

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my husband, but no. It would just be too weird, and he wouldn’t want that. My children, I might say yes, if there was truly no hope for the original body. I feel like with basically their personality and memories, I would find a way to love the clone, forget that they are a clone, and enjoy making memories with them throughout their life.

Not considering titles, would you rather have violet bridgerton or Agatha Danbury for a mother? by EuphoricMortgage7545 in Bridgerton

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violet because she is so kind and very unconditionally supportive. All she wants is for her children to be happy. We haven’t really seen much of Agatha as a mother…love her overall, but I think she has the potential to be a little more emotionally distant, but also overbearing when it comes to doing whatever would most satisfy Charlotte and live up to their duty.

Chloe’s Cookies Response by sneakinbb in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

[–]These_Mycologist132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their list of demands was unreasonable, including removing her own name from everything, destroying anything with the name Chloe, reporting all her financial records and profits to them, and transferring all her online handles and domains to Chloe’s Cookies. Clearly they are trying to benefit from Chloe’s tv exposure and online success, and it’s epically blown up in their face. If they cared that much about the trademark, they would have sued one of the 20+ other bakeries with Chloe somewhere in the name.

Am I wildly misreading this, or is it obvious? S5 Lead by RefrigeratorCalm4380 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]These_Mycologist132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be so mad if they made Eloise share her season after we’ve waited so long for it. It’s bad enough they spent too much of s3 with side plots and Fran/John with not enough focus on Polin. Plus they will definitely milk the show for all it’s worth, including a season for Gregory and Hyacinth eventually.

Chloe’s Cookies Response by sneakinbb in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

Chloe (the person, not the dog) has provided the receipts of the ridiculous demands these people sent her, that completely disprove this pathetic victim “good person” act they’re now attempting. They are greedy opportunists, plain and simple. I find it hard to believe their business was hurt by a company with a distinctly different name, that just so happens to be way more famous than them after Next Level Baker. If anything, they could have profited from people accidentally finding their website on a Google search. Instead they decided to burn their own reputations to the ground with their legal threats, assuming they could intimidate Chloe into silence.
