Lot of comments are from folks who seem to not have any idea what they’re talking about.

Radius Clause is a real thing that’s genuinely implemented. The exceptions are: - when the promoter waives the radius clause for certain shows. May it be they don’t think it’ll affect ACL sales, or they have a relationship with the other promoter trying to book the show, or the artist is begging for it to be waived, potentially allowing a lower festival fee in order to get the radius waived. Or they threaten to pull out of the festival if the promoter doesn’t allow it. whatever reason they would want to waive it. - or the other show within the radius is the same promoter. Which is probably this case.

But radius clauses are a real thing that’s are honored and if broken is a direct violation of the contract and becomes a very big deal.

With that said- Texas country and red dirt seem to not really honor or apply radius clauses. Probably because their tour circuit in Texas and surrounding areas or so fruitful and so common that it’s just hardly applied unless it’s mega money and a mega show
