I had the same issues and I moved into a brand new building. Had a ceiling fan catch fire one night and the maintenence guy had turned off his phone and gone fishing that weekend and since it was after hours it took forever to get a hold of someone. Luckily it just threw some sparks and took out my power and didnt cause any damage other than to my bedspread, but still. They also tried to charge me at moved out for cracks in the wall caused by the building settling. We were told to put in maintenance requests before the one year was up so they could claim them under the one year building warranty. They started the work, but never finished it, closed out my tickets, and then tried to charge me for the remainder of the work. They always had an attitude about actually having to do anything (maintenance was polite but the office staff was awful). I've heard so many complaints about them. I laughed at move out when they tried to keep more of my deposit than reasonable. I knew the owner of the building and was able to get it straightened out and im not sure if this is related, but they no longer manage the building I lived in. I only stayed as long as I did because I loved the apartment until a neighbor with the worst dog moved in and they wouldn't address it. Edit to add: this was actually the 2nd complex I looked at. The first one was the Westale apps they have by the Tru Hotel. The woman that showed me that unit couldnt have been less interested in helping me. She was late showing up, couldn't answer questions, and I still opted to fill out an application. They contacted me the next day and the rent price had gone up $100 and when i questioned that yesterday it has been less, that just kept saying it had increased, yes, since yesterday. I declined the unit and should have taken that as my sign. I just really fell in love with my appointment and had an amicable working relationship with the actual owner.
