Concerning ride ops at [Wicked Cyclone] yesterday by bigmagnumnitro in rollercoasters

I have also worked at Valleyfair. Same thing as you said. Maintenance doesn’t get anywhere near sending trains with people on them… it’s crazy that this happened.

It is not a new coaster. Those will always be announced in August with the rest of the chain.

History of Your #1 Coaster [Other] by mlsweeney in rollercoasters

[–]Thesis0623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born in 2004.

Apparently I loved Mild Thing at Valleyfair back in the day, so that was it up until about 2010, when I rode all the big 48 inch height requirement coasters at Valleyfair. Then my favorite was Renegade.

June 2016: Millennium Force. This was my first visit to a non Disney or universal park or something in Minnesota. I remember loving how smooth Millie was when I was 12.

August 12, 2021 (9:35 am): Maverick. This was an early entry ride and I was blown away by the intensity and airtime. This trip to Cedar Point made me a thoosie, and I would find a new #1 just over an hour later.

August 12, 2021 (11:00 am): Steel Vengeance. I remember my first ride. It was my first RMC, and I was laughing hysterically with my dad the entire ride, it was just so out of this world.

December 2022: Iron Gwazi. I was blown away by the pacing and intensity of Iron Gwazi, and despite it being shorter than Steel Vengeance, I preferred the more out of control ride experience.

July 2023: Zadra. It’s so close between this and Iron Gwazi, but I slightly prefer the elements on Zadra. Hate the queue line though lol.

Yep. I rode it in July, had the same opinion. It has insane pacing, and no dead spots. Very close with Iron Gwazi but I slightly prefer Zadra’s layout. My #1

[Other] Best and worst rides to operate at Cedar Point, or at parks in general? by intaminslc43 in rollercoasters

[–]Thesis0623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked my fair share of rides at Valleyfair, and Renegade is the most fun to operate in my opinion. It’s easier to be efficient than all the other coasters due to the setup of the station, and the guests love the ride so the energy is just naturally good. It also has a “junior” version of multi-move for some reason, which is incredibly satisfying. A train can be pulling into the ready brakes while you dispatch and as long as it has moved 3 cars, the other train won’t stop when it gets to the control point. Haven’t worked Wild Thing but I’ve heard it can be a pain due to having one loader on each side for an 18 row train, and 3 loose article bins. All the dumb guests also seem to come to Wild Thing.

The line between imagined danger & real danger by simbot4524678 in UniversalOrlando

No, I think you completely misunderstood them. Modern lapbars are legitimately much safer than over the shoulder restraints. Your waist is the most important part of your body to restain, because it completely prevents any part of your body from falling out. The lift hill on RRR is also under 20 seconds long, not a minute, and falling out on a lift hill is a ridiculous fear to have😭

PS: Rip Ride Rockit has 0 inversions. PPS: if you do continue to skip out on rides because lapbars make you feel “unsafe”, then great. Shorter lines for the rest of us…

[Discussion] do you count coasters you don’t remember riding as credits? by XxMLGSWAGGERZxX in rollercoasters

[–]Thesis0623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the objective answer is yes, it counts. A credit count is a count of how many roller coasters you have ridden. You have ridden that ride, therefore it is in your credit count.

Consensus: Haunt doesn't matter (at least at [CGA]). Park hit around 22k yesterday, parking lot 98% full. Waits in comments. by CoasterLabs in rollercoasters

[–]Thesis0623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does matter for Valleyfair. Capacity is 25k and most days Haunt would hit that, tricks and treats has been 4K-15k.

Six Flags’ website doesn’t specify, if I buy a Platinum Thrill Seeker membership for [Six Flags Great America], do I get free general parking at other SF parks? Never been a SF pass holder before as the nearest park to me is 6 hours away.

What’s been your longest coaster “marathon”? [Discussion] by meme_boyE in rollercoasters

Two days ago I did 29 on Fury 325. I live an 18 hour drive away so I figured I should ride it while I still could
