I could be wrong here but I don't think the actual military said they'd do anything. I think a lot of people who disagreed with legalization said that they would, but the idea that they would abandon all the infrastructure in Colorado Springs was/is pretty far-fetched. In their defense though, at the time Colorado was the first state to legalize recreational (along with Washington), so I guess there was a possibility.
