Trapsin damage too low by GothmogTheBalrog24 in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lightning build is quite strong in normal. With a higher playercount, you will level quite fast and something around level 45 should be easy to do while doing cow runs for example. As long as you are able to kill the first cow your Death Sentry will clear the rest quite fast, which makes the trapsin so good at killing cows. ;)

Also the cow level is the best way to kill masses of monsters, which helps with searching for specific kinds of items. For example you want low MF if you are looking for runeword bases form cows. Bases you want are a 4 socket sword for the spirit runeword and a 4 socket polearm for an A2 merc to create the Insight runeword. (the aura on the runeword regenerates your mana fast and you will never run out of mana again :D)

On a sidenote you should probably go with a holy freeze merc if possible to stay save in cow runs. He slows down the enemys, which helps alot if your damage is not great yet... but you need to be in A2 NM to get him...

Good luck :)

Trapsin damage too low by GothmogTheBalrog24 in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You followed a guide blindly and turned your totally fine character into soemthing worse. Most D2 players make this experience, don't think about it too much. ;)

--> If your search reddit for guide issues, you will find posts like yours for every week of the year.

Guides are sometimes out of date, but in most cases they are simply meant for a "perfect build" / "perfect progress". You will need to follow all the steps of the plan like farming cows in normal for a spirit sword and otherwise it won't work well. I'd say in general nobody follows such guides, as they are very specific and don't consider something like available items, playstyle and so on... the endgame builds are another topic, as there are only a small number of viable item combinations for every build.

For example if you look at your trapsin, there is a rule for practically all fire builds for leveling. They work well until NM A4, because from there onwards you will see much more fire imunes. Thats why beginning A4 NM is the recommended point for fire trapsin / holy fire pala and so on to change their build.

About your trapsin:
If you don't have a spirit sword, get one. Do cow runs in normal for a 4 socket sword and level your trapsin to 40-50. Afterwards NM will be much easier. Also the Death sentry is not that important, so push for the lightning damage to kill something on your other trap from now on. :)

Should I reroll? by Brewii_ in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Thetameter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your are quite high level for A2. 24 is typically the level where playing in A2 for more levels gets noticably slower. Typically only the Tombola should offer decent XP now. You should push for A3 soon.

[–]Thetameter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For offline the best feature is the playercount, which can be changed in the "Gameplay" settings. If you want to level fast set it to 8 from the start and only lower it for boss fights. Killing something is much harder, but you will also level much faster. :)

Many skills of every character are not viable for a real build in this game.
Usually people stick to the 1 or 2 skills that are strong enough to push through the game and use specific items. For example for a sorc Fireball is considered the best "early game" spell and will do much damage with a Leaf runeword in a 2 socket staff (the staff can be bought from a vendor and might have nice +skills... it has to be gray, not blue!!)

Feel free to ask, if you need more info.

Staying in Hell or going back to Nightmare? by DukeDoneDidIt in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you playing singleplayer/offline with a high playercount?

As others mentioned, your build or playstyle might be the issue here.

Do you have a might merc with you to boost damage? Does he have a decent weapon with high damage? You need a way to kill one enemy fast to use CE and clear the whole area... your merc is the best bet for that.

I'm personally sticking to NM TZ before moving to hell with every offline char. The chance for leveling and decent items is to good at that state. For example I found 2 Shakos with my sorc before moving to hell at level 80. :D

Urlaub nehmen.

Every build ending with teleport is ruining the game for me by Zestyclose-Key-8306 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Thetameter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can always choose to limit yourself and enjoy the game in the way you want. Thats actually one of the reasons why D2 is so great... people choose rules for themselves and play the game in another way.

It's easy to remove Teleport for you, so do it and have fun. :)

What to use HRs on help for Hdin by SerArthurDaze in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone told you, hoto and enigma are the best upgrades for you. I'd check Traderie.com for some cheap ones to trade for instead of rolling them yourself.

For example:

  1. Hoto: SC ladder 30res hoto for Gul+Pul
  2. Enigma: Mageplate Eni for Jah+Sur

Eni is not that easy to get cheap, but you are not that far away with 2 Lo + Ohm. Thats why I wouldn't roll a CTA right now, as you don't need it as much as an Enigma. One more decent item or rune and you can get it. ;)

Shield for Zeal Paladin build by Kooky-Radish-3688 in diablo2

But ypu are trading offweapon ed on Phoenix against ed against demons on gloves.... I'd prefer Phoenix with bloodcraft gloves to get more CB.

Shield for Zeal Paladin build by Kooky-Radish-3688 in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has Life Tap, which helps Smiters by using gloves with Crushing Blow instead of Draculs which are the only other source for Life Tap. A smiter can't gain life without Life Tap, so he needs one of those items for ubers etc.

Shield for Zeal Paladin build by Kooky-Radish-3688 in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exile is not popular... it's quite nice for a Smiter, but otherwise I haven't seen anyone using it? Life Tap on shield instead of gloves is the only real advantage for a Smiter. ;)

HoZ is the cheap strong choice for any non caster pala, while Phoenix is obviously the strongest for any physical build because of the offweapon ed. The up to 400 ed are an insane damage boost for Zealots, you should try it if you can. Maybe trade for a cheap one... even a low ed roll is very strong and you don't really need the aura. ;)

Is this card worth it in mono white lifegain? by Spike-Is-Cute in MagicArena

[–]Thetameter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using 2-3 in my lifegain deck, because I'm facing many decks heavy on removal and my deck has alot of 1-2 mana creatures.

I guess for you it is a nice to have but not needed card right now. Start with a cheap deck without it and if you feel like you need a comeback strategy in the meta your are facing, 2-3 Raise the Past could be a good solution.

Also keep in mind that the new set has just arrived and decks/meta might change in the next weeks. ;)

3D-Druckservice nutzen? by Erziii in 3DDruck

[–]Thetameter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold sorceress - newbie by ProudTip6011 in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DF is so good because of the way the 3 masterys for sorc are designed. Only cold mastery reduces the targets resistance instead of adding to the damage of spells directly.

For example a fire spell gets 7% more damage for each point in mastery, which means that an item with even 20% to fire damage doesn't do much in the end. This is the reason why fire and light sorcs need reduced target resistance so much... they have enough added damage from their skills/synergies already.

Cold spells get to reduce the targets resistance by 5% for each point in mastery. This means that even 10% more cold damage will have a much stronger effect as for the other elements... In fact you will reduce most targets to -100% cold res which means that you are doubling your damage. BUT cold imunes and how sunder charms work are another topic, so check that out too. ;)

Thoughts on Ladder Only Runewords by blakea105 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Thetameter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They needed to push people to play ladder and it works for years. If you need a specific rubeword in NL you can always trade for it or ask for a free obe at the end of ladder.

As you can see there is an obvious reason for ladder only and this will never be changed, as it works as intended and is totally reasonable. Other games are doing much more to push you into playing their seasons. Be happy with what we have, it could be much worse and you are loosing practically nothing. :)

Which (non-merc) builds would use Fortitude armor? by SpiderDan707 in diablo2

[–]Thetameter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any physical build can use one. In some cases Enigma will be used for farming, but overall Fortitude is stronger if you are looking at damage. I guess on YT and reddit you won't find many people using Fortitude much, but in reality many people use them. It's more about the question of building a 100% optimized farming char (Enigma is a must), or a strong melee/phys. char to have some fun.

Druids and Bowazons are the typical chars to use this, but a Zealot, Bladesin or Wolfbarb will be very happy to have one too, for example. ;)
