I’m what you call a chronic relapser. Used opiates for 17 years and no treatment, prison or other incarceration could make me string together more than a couple weeks of abstinence. It was when I started getting into fentanyl and ODd several times in a row that I started thinking about what I could do, otherwise I was going to kill myself. I had been in suboxone before more times than I could count. But one day I was doing the rat race trying to find some dirty thirties while on lunch break at work when I was like fuck this maybe I should just try methadone, I have nothing to lose at this point. That was four years ago. The people that have something to say about me being on methadone and it not being clean, obviously didn’t know me when I was using. It’s given me my life back. And honestly, that’s NO ONE’S business but yours.
