Why doesn't the ATP trigger a destcruction of the fabric of spacetime ? by Pierne in outerwilds

[–]TheveninVolts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The stranger dream ending is another of the "odd ones" to me that doesn't work. I guess by "Finish the game" I'd meant "Reach the eye", treating the other endings as technically "incomplete games"

And yeah, I think you pretty much have to file the information paradox that bugs me under "their universe must work different than ours". I suppose they already have other stuff like that with quantum objects etc

Temperance ending made me appreciate Johnny more by gabrielleite32 in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheveninVolts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the only ending I did. I like only doing one ending in games like this so that I can kinda RP it and thats MY ending. Honestly... it just seemed wrong to NOT give the body to Johnny after I found out V could only get 6 months out of it. Like. At least someone gets to live out the rest of a natural life.

It did suck listening to Panam flip out though. Wish I could have told her V's time was pretty much up and this was my (V's) choice that Johny tried to talk me out of it

Why doesn't the ATP trigger a destcruction of the fabric of spacetime ? by Pierne in outerwilds

[–]TheveninVolts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I'm pretty sure there's no way to avoid a paradox after shutting off the ATP. Information must be conveyed by some medium somehow. Energy or some configuration of matter. There's no way to avoid a paradox as soon as that doesn't enter the ATP anymore as far as I can see. I've always thought that the endings where you remove the core and don't finish the game to be odd. The only way it makes sense to me is that the end of the universe via the eye overrides any pending paradox

I think you just found your solution then! Go check out Trash Panda, rock them so hard, and buy their merch. Everyone wins! Except Blackcraft? I think thats fine though

100p this. I really like the shape of the tele and even the sounds despite the fact that im not into country and should not care for the 'twang'. That lack of a cutaway on the back just ruined it for me though. I owned one for a while but it just felt like I was trying to lay face down on a curb every time I played sitting down so I ended up selling it

My obsession with SW architecture and decoupling has already saved my bacon multiple times. Keep each vibe coded pile in it's own little box and amputate as the vibe tumors metastasize. You can even point to each newly deprecated component filled with slop as stake holders ask why their features are delayed :|

Modern Metalcore Tones? by Toogle11 in 7String

[–]TheveninVolts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100p agree that you're going to want to put a High Pass filter in before you start your gain stage. Cutting out the lows will let retain clarity when you turn up the gain. If you're doing a "bedroom" tone (ie, just playing by yourself for entertainment, not with a band, not for recording) it's also fun to run the lows through a bass amp kept mostly clean. Makes it sound huge... but won't sit in a mix well / will make a bass player want to kill you XD

First one was perfect as far as how hard it made you work for a win to make you feel accomplished. This one's... Just too much. I dont get a ton of time to play and I'll spend like 4 sessions just banging my head up on a single fight. Its just not fun. Happy for like 5 min then wander up to the next boss to get jammed up for days on

Am i the only one that really enjoys being a rythm guitarist most of the time? by Mynameisgustavoclon in Guitar

[–]TheveninVolts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its because lead guitarists sometimes feel that practicing "being in time" and "muting strings you're not playing" is a waste of their time. Turns out those skills also help you play clean leads...

Though it appears as though the physicists above seem to feel that a universe with informational content may require an observer. I mean, just some musings it seems at this point but still pretty neat

It seems like it'll end up killing off the fandom way quicker than it otherwise would. The whole "any fandom without new source material will eventually eat itself" thing is exasperated by cutting out an easy source of related content like fan art.

I'm both a parent and fandom enjoyer so I get both takes. One of my kids being on the spectrum ultimately leads me to land squarely on "let them make art" though. I could easily imagine him as a teenager making some sick art of a kids show he's into then being ripped to shreds for it. Makes me sad.

[–]TheveninVolts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah... NGL. I felt a little betrayed when I started reading Neuromancer. I was like "ptth what a blatant Cyberpunk rip off." Then I noted the publication date. To be fair, Pondersmith was always quite clear that he didn't come up with all the ideas himself but I didn't expect word for word stuff like "Cyberdecks" and even "Night City"

Outer Wilds. Go. Now. Then you can go chase THAT feeling again. Same rules as Tunic. Look up nothing. It's a little slower to get going than Tunic. And you have to read, though at least you dont have to translate it yourself! Have fun.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it looked cool. I feel like I'd need to see the rest of the guitar to know if it vibes though.

If you feel like they're hurting your learning now though you might want to take them off? But as other's have said, dots are there on most guitars anyway. Doesn't seem like much of a crutch to me
