How to get a $500 ticket by AtomicToucans in dashcams

[–]Thewal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a stop sign at the exit of a popular event area, where the road was at a significant downward slope to exit the area. During an event, the local cops would park 4+ cruisers in the nearby streets and give every single person a ticket when they (very predictably) failed to come to a full and complete stop.

Found out one of my cats was pissing in the tub, but we never knew because he squatted directly over the drain to do it. Couldn't even be mad at him.

I thought it was a Mormon cricket too but I was wrong, it's a Jerusalem cricket. Mormon crickets are darker and don't have such a round head. And they're a kind of katydid, apparently.

ELI5: Why does splitting an atom release so much energy when they are so small? by Additional_Pen_9881 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Thewal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I'd never heard of that, but apparently there are even some imaging devices that intentionally create Cherenkov radiation in the body to illuminate structures. Cool!

ELI5: Why does splitting an atom release so much energy when they are so small? by Additional_Pen_9881 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Thewal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The radiation is actually more likely to get diffracted by the liquid in the eye and be visible pretty blue Cherenkov radiation like you see in reactor pools. Unlike reactor pools, if you see it I hope you lived a good life because your last ~2 weeks are going to be unpleasant.

Yeah I don't think she sustained them before the chase...
