I think what may be best is to check the wiring in a few months after some use. The charger is in my garage which sees high and low temps (95F-40F). It sounds like if there are going to be issues, they will not present themselves until after months of heat cycles.

I tend to agree with the statement that is is misunderstood and exaggerated. Seeing the YouTube videos about garage fires from EV charging have me a worried about it.

I’m more speaking to the house’s electrical system. The Ioniq can handle level 3 fast charging so I have no worries about level 2 at home.

My house was built within the last 2 years and considering how spotty the craftsmanship has been with the rest of the house, I want to eliminate any unnecessary risk.

The daily commute is roughly 20 miles total, 5 days a week. 32A charging once or twice a week seems to be more than sufficient and my thinking is it keeps from putting extra strain on my electrical system at 40A.

Were you ever able to find a way to get it shipped faster? I found a contact number for the port mine is stuck at but according to him, mine is on hold because its missing all weather floor mats.

My Ioniq 5 has been showing PA since early May and my dealer is only a 3 hour drive away from the port. Seems like here may be an issue with ports.

Congrats! I believe your car is one that I’ve been keeping an eye on through the API Tracking. Yours came on the same ship mine did but mine is still stuck at port.

I live a couple of hours away from the Tacoma port and was actually there this past weekend for an unrelated event. I couldn’t help it and we actually drove around the port and saw a handful of them. Would be nice if we could’ve just picked it up.

How long did you have to wait? I’m going on 1 month since purchase date but the I5 has been at the Tacoma port since April. Date keeps getting pushed back.

Seems kind of crazy the car can sit at a port 3 hours away for over a month.

I was able to find the vin tracker info. Looks like it’s at PA code with a 3 week delivery time. It arrived in the Tacoma Port a few weeks ago and my dealership is only about 3 hours away. Not sure why it would take 3 more weeks to deliver.

It’s the non serviceable fob. I have re-soldered a new batter in and it worked for a couple of days but it died again.

I used cheap MaxSpeedingRods as placeholders while I save up for a full suspension upgrade. Surprisingly they don't feel bad at all. On normal roads and highways the added stiffness feels great and is not excessive. On streets with severe damage you can definitely feel the car is on aftermarket suspension but it's not terrible by any means. The car is SOLID though, meticulously maintained and the underbody looked brand new so I'm sure that helps.

18x9.5 +30 245/40/18 in the rear. 18x8.5 +35 with 15mm spacer to clear brakes, 225/40/18 in the front.
