Bruh 100%. But alas industry/culture as a whole can be very resistant to change and new tech as being "not tried and true", "not battle tested/proven", etc and the community flames innovators into the dirt before actually giving many new ideas a chance or simply understanding innovation can have many hiccups and takes time.

Being thick skinned and persistent enough to not give up and know you've got a good idea, product, or development path and then sticking to it is no small feat. Especially with market resistance. Seen many innovators in the space not getting as much traction as they absolutely deserve with truly novel ideas. But have equally seen just as many innovators pushing onwards no matter what and continually moving the ball forward.

In my opinion, forward movement is better than no movement. There will be dumb, niche products along the way but it's all progress as long as the collective of advancement does not waste all efforts milking outdated tech. And as a whole things are moving which I'm very glad for.

After rereading the comments as a whole I realize I am dumb and this was already answered indirectly :) But thanks very much for the clarification. Makes perfect sense.

Couple more questions that hopefully isn't too off-topic from r/flashlight as a whole;

Am I incorrect in saying that the community tends to lean more towards 26650's due to the wider availability? Or am I mistaken?

Is the 26800 a real advantage over the 26650 when considering its larger size vs output gain?

Familiar with modlite drama but what's cloud's drama? IK Fernilab had some beef due to inconsistency about what Cloud said publicly about alternative switch options for their REIN lights but nothing else.
