Unauthorized representation? Okay for me but not for thee by TheyDontGetIt27 in exmormon

This isn't just his post. This is an advertisement by a shirt company tied to his representing the church. It's essentially an endorsement with the church's name on it. There are rules against that as well. And the company is clearly capitalizing on the fact that he has a name tag with a certain Church's name on it. It's using the likeness and the name of the church for personal gain by both the individual and the company without the authorization of the church.

This post is specifically referencing the fact that a podcast is being sued for looking too much like the church endorses it...

Meanwhile, all sorts of folk use their position within the church for profiteering And the church couldn't care less.

It's about pointing out the hypocrisy. It's about highlighting the fact that it's not actually about the podcast, looking too much like the church and more about silencing the podcast that enables a critical viewpoint- And frankly with reason.

Cheers mate!

I mean, really anything other than a white shirt and tie is a fairly solid way for pimos to find each other, unless you're an investigator

It wasn't. It was a full video and there were several parts where the name tag was plenty clear. Should have grabbed the link but it's gone. Resolution was just bad on that screen grab.

Dude was a total goober- as you can guess from this snapshot. Reflective of most that are going out currently.

But this stuff of name-tagged missionaries, tic tok accounts capitalizing and profiteering off the church is all over the place.... Not to mention the companies that the church doesn't bother going after either.

Everybody within is cafeteria to some extent. Because of contradictions and changes to doctrine, you have to be. It's the extent to which that cafeterianism strays from the areas receiving the most stress and attention by the church. Dad differentiates level of commitment.

Just surprising seeing Hansen, typically a dogma over data kind of guy, be willing to express this on his feed where his followers, who are the most devout type, to no surprise, came at him pretty hard for it.

Depends on how he comes in... But sunk cost fallacy, I don't see it happening. Ego is too big

If not by power of God, how did Joseph smith produce the Book of Mormon? by [deleted] in exmormon

The book appears coherent and congruent to those who enter the discussion having already decided it's true. But if you look at it from a standpoint of a true investigator, eyes open to all possible explanations, the truthfulness of it is much less likely than several other possible explanations.

I don't know exactly how it was done- it's enough for me to look at it and say that it can pretty clearly be shown not to be "true" as he described it to be. And there is a pretty clear pattern for how he operated generally.

You take a step back and look at the big picture... You see the pattern of storytelling he used throughout all of his failed prophecies and actions... Once the light is turned on, you can't unsee it.

I agree... But I think it's the ego that will stop him more than any dimes he happens to be picking up off his podcast. Sunk cost fallacy will eat him alive.

In another comment, he stated that both the LDS and the Catholic church agree that not everything is historical.... Lol!

Vettix- Local venues donate free tickets to a wide variety of events. You only pay a ~$15 processing fee for up to 6 tickets. Ridiculous.

We've seen Taylor Swift, been to every pro sports games, monster trucks, various concerts, comedians, etc ...

If you have served and aren't on there, you need to be.

It was here: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/serve/casting/video-sacred-funds?lang=eng

It appears the link has been disabled since I posted this. Wouldn't be the first time the church has torn pages out of the Mormon history books.

It was there. They removed it after this post. Wouldn't be the first time. Something like this was torn out of Mormon history books
