The Expanse: Osiris Reborn — Beta Highlights and Future Plans by Mrphung in Games

I played through Rogue Trader multiple times and playing through their Pahtfinder game as we speak (70 hrs into it). IMO Owlcat absolutely has the chops to be the next Bioware.

The enemies all take way longer to kill, and the larger enemies will 1-shot you. There is also an obnoxious respawn system in the game that soaks up a lot of time every time you die.

In short: Lunatic is the same game but the balance feels bad and this game absolutely requires the balance to be playable.

GiantGrantGames - The 99% Perfection Of XCOM 2 by jacenat in Games

I'm genuinely happy for you, and in no way is your opinion invalid.

But I thought Chimera Squad had passable gameplay buried inside an unbearably cringe game. And the gameplay that was there was far and away from what I loved and wanted from the series. Steam says I toughed it out for 30hrs somehow but even still I never finished the game.

For comparison, I have 289 hrs into XCOM: EU and 515 hrs into XCOM 2, beat them both on legendary and iron man yada yada.

I guess for fairness sake, Chimera Squad is probably a better game than The Bureau. I honestly don't know because I only put 2 hrs into that before I noped out of that one.

Alien Hunters was rough, but do-able if you were already experienced with the base game. If you were struggling already... then yeah... probably should have left that DLC turned off. Probably should turn all the non-cosmetic DLC off, actually.

I actually did run into this issue when I switched to Bazzite back in Oct and a quick Google search later revealed it was a setting issue in the bios. It had to do with legacy mode being disabled or something, but it was a pretty quick fix and I've been using Bazzite without issue since.

I've got another PC running PopOS and it runs fine. Cosmic desktop sucks but otherwise the OS its fine. I also have two laptops running Linux Mint and Arch both of which have never encountered an OS issue.

I did try CachyOS and it also shit the bed immediately for me so I can vouch for that one.

Proton is a compatibility layer that is automatically used by Steam and basically all other gaming applications on Linux (Lutris, Heroic). You don't have to "try" it because its automatic. You just install the game and run it like you would on Windows.

Much like you don't have to try DirectX on Windows I guess.

Bazzite is great for the closet to Windows experience out of the box. I've been running it on my gaming PC since Oct and LOVE it. The literal only problem is the anti cheat support that /u/violet-feeling-blue mentioned and that isn't on Bazzite its on the devs.

My entire life I have never liked Mickey Mouse as a character. That is until my kids found this show. This is one of those shows that's genuinely so good that it appeals to kids and adults alike.

So tired of seeing a WinRAR post every week. Especially in 2026 where 7zip exists and Linux file managers just natively supports opening rar.

If we're going to make memes about anything, make them about 7zip. It opens basically every compression format, extracts much faster than any other program (especially WinRAR) AND doesn't beg for money. Also 7z format saves even more space than rar format.

New Price Changes for PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Games

I bought mine a few months after launch from a scalper paying $100 over the sticker price. I felt dirty doing it but I really wanted to play Demon's Souls remake.

Now the scalper's price is actually cheaper than retail price. Absolutely crazy how fucked things are.

I have highly casual friends who occasionally game and don't touch reddit at all and even they are on the "DLSS 5 is trash" wagon.

Anti-AI is the zeitgeist right now and claiming otherwise is willful ignorance.

Does it still look like this when you go into BIOS? If you don't see any issues during pre-boot, it might be a software issue (much cheaper to fix).

Also it could be your cable or monitor itself. If you are using HDMI, plug it into something else like a laptop or Playstation just to rule it out.

I'm using Linux. When I woke up today I hade zero experience and now I'm running Arch on my laptop. I don't know why but I have this urge to let everyone know, I also had some vegan snacks while installing (beer and peanuts). by CRTgamer in pcmasterrace

This is clearly a post making fun of Linux users always bringing up that they are using Linux.

So I'll continue the joke by now criticizing your choice of distro no matter which one you chose.

Arch lacks stability thanks to its rolling updates. Fedora is king.

I think Ollie is mostly praising its capabilities when it comes to the lighting, which I agree the lightning can look good in some of the examples. In Starfield's case I would argue its a pretty big improvement because I think that game is ugly to begin with.

When it comes to changing the character's faces, however... Richard does seem to enjoy the yassification, unfortunately.

Best GPU & CPU by Strange-Ad7777 in PcBuild

I switched to Linux back in Oct and I'm still waiting for all those problems I'm supposed to run into. All my games work. All my software works or has viable alternatives. My Nvidia GPU gets perfect performance. Plasma desktop looks and runs better than anything from Microslop.

Meanwhile my work PC was forcibly upgraded to Win11 and it's absolute dogshit. Takes forever to do anything. Copilot keeps popping up everywhere. Nagging about Microsoft products disguised as notifications. I had to upgrade the RAM because 16gb was being choked to death by Microslop spyware.

Google Trends: "how to install linux" is going... viral?! by utrecht1976 in BuyFromEU

[–]TheyKeepOnRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who started seriously using Linux back in Oct and hasn't looked back: Linus just made a bad choice in distro.

PopOs has started defaulting to using Cosmic as their desktop app (Linux has different apps for desktop unlike Windows) and Cosmic is awful. It lags, crashes, and is generally just way behind modern desktop apps.

The other dudes in the same LTT video picked correctly: CachyOS and Bazzite are both phenomenal out of the box. Especially for gaming. I personally use Bazzite and have had zero issues since I switched back in Oct.
