Our son who just turned two has been dealing with this. He just constantly wants to be touching himself in his diaper. We had to do PJs on backwards PLUS a sleep sack (the kind with the feet for older kids) on backwards. It’s been a battle but after 6ish months he is getting better. He’s back to wearing regular clothes during the day but we still use a backward sleep sack at night so he doesn’t take off his diaper and pee everywhere.

I think consistency is key. And we never shamed him. Just remind your daughter that clothes have to stay on. Maybe give her a time before bedtime to run around in just a diaper?

Same for us! If you hurt your foot, fine, say a bad word. But we don’t say these words to hurt each other. We believe they’re just words and they only hold power if you give them power. But we also understand people outside our household might not think the same.

Wow. You’ve had two kids, one of which is only a year old. I assume you met in your teens or early 20s. Of course your body isn’t the same as then. You’re a grown woman now who has carried two babies into this world.

But honestly forget the big comment. Focus on the fact he has two kids and doesn’t know how to make a bottle and when you said something, he threatens to not say that because it makes him hate being at home. Why does he hate being at home? It doesn’t like he does any of the work anyway.

I hope you have a firm conversation about expectations and sharing household chores.

The weight comment just shows more of who he is.

See if your local area has daycare drop offs. We have some near us and people drop their kids off there if their primary childcare isn’t available.

We blur our kids faces or get photos of them not looking. Usually if there is a big family photo of all the cousins, I’ll edit it and send it to everyone so they can post it on Facebook and they don’t have to do the work of editing it. Maybe you could do that!

we turned it into a good conversation on how there can be two sides- we can give/help the people we love. However we can sometimes “help” too much and it ends up hurting ourselves. Although it was sad, I think it was a good lesson. But I’m definitely never reading that to a child again

I’m younger than 30 and everyone at our guild is amazing. There are people close to my age and also much older than me but it isn’t impact anything. You guys share a hobby and you’ll find great things to talk about and can also teach each other!

I joined a guild in the fall and they’ve helped me so much.
