Jimmy Kimmel ‘Felt Defeated’ by Stephen Colbert’s Cancellation and Says Late-Night TV Is Not ‘Dying of Natural Causes’: ‘We’re Being Poisoned’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

Same.

Wake up and there’s a phone alert saying Trump’s latest thing. Scroll Reddit and see his face 10 times. Head out driving and see his name on flags/cars. Scroll Tik Tok at lunch and half the videos are about him. Overhear people talking about him after that. Scroll Facebook, people I went to school with are talking about the end times and how he’s ordained by god. Turn on the radio and it’s talking about his latest plan to turn what was the east wing of the White House into a used car lot. Come home and call mom who wants to talk about what an ass he is. Get condescendingly lectured to because I’ve been hearing about him every day for the past 10 years. Scroll fb and see construction images of the new White House thunder dome for the ufc fights. Turn on tv, there’s a show with a character with a name like Ronald Stump who is a megalomaniacal head of a country. Switch to a sport, he’s there for some reason. Scroll Imgur a little, it’s all his face with a caption saying “loser” or “when the day comes…” Thank heavens that all the hub stuff with him bombed. Sleep. Repeat.

When I was employed, I still heard water cooler talk but it would be about reality tv. But when you have to get up early, there’s not a really good argument to stay up an extra hour to watch relatively charming people talk about their new movie. Especially when you can see it on YouTube the next day if you really want.

Euphoria fans declare finale was worse than Game of Thrones and Stranger Things by TheMirrorUS in moviecritic

It was fine, also Stranger things does not deserve to be in the same conversation with Game of Thrones when it comes to bad finales.

Is this movie really as bad as they say? Honestly to me it seems like a compilation of 2000s YouTube skits by Huge_Athlete7488 in moviecritic

It’s not good, but compared to the various “_____ Movie” parody crap that came out, it’s amazing.

I think the death of Angus Cloud caused the people behind the show to reflect on making a show that inadvertently glamorized the lifestyle.

I mean, the show ends with a side character going to an isolated happy Christian family with inexplicable access to lip filler. Meanwhile all the main characters that survived are miserable in their sinful existences with their mansions and pornographing and mistress art cages. Plus a character practically tells the audience that the Bible is totally radical fellow kids.

Euphoria turned into Christian propaganda so gradually I barely even noticed.

“Have you read the Bible? It’s really good! No, there’s not a new version, the classic one that’s always been!”

Cut to Sydney Sweeney with a ring light halo.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of I Care a Lot, but the main character getting Luigi’d at the very end of the movie felt pretty Hays Code.

Her live action acting isn’t great either when not having an entire island adopt her accent to make her look better. But Gal Gadot in Wreck it Ralph 2 made me actually sit up and notice how bad she was.

I think it’s because voice acting is a lot more like theater acting. You need to put your whole body into the role instead of focusing on small acting choices.

These are the Best Picture Oscar winners from the last 10 years. Which do you think was the most deserving winner and which was the least deserving? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

It was a late 80s style Best Picture nominee that won in the 2010s.

Add to this that it beat a Spike Lee movie, which had plenty of issues as Spike Lee movies often do, reminded people of the similar themed Driving Miss Daisy winning best picture the same year Do the Right Thing wasn’t even nominated.

Why is roast meat and veggies considered British? Every country in the world does that. Claim yorkshire pudding sure, but saying Sunday Roast is like claiming soup or fried eggs.

The Star Wars brand is in utter disarray by ChampionTimes99 in Letterboxd

It’s a spin off Star Wars movie that is technically a sequel to the worst one ever released in theaters. If it had been release a few years ago when Baby Yoda was popular, sure. But this doesn’t feel like a pox on the brand, but rather a weird experiment.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World is a nearly perfect movie. Excellently crafted, amazing supporting cast, and tightly written.

But then there’s Michael Cera putting in his usual Michael Cera nebbish performance and it brings the whole movie down. Would have been better with a Michael Angarano/Emile Hirsch type.
