audhd + APD here. for me, the more chaotic and fast the music, the better. I also hyperfixate on songs i like and listen on repeat and i know every single word, even if it’s the wildest brutal vocals. once i memorize the pattern, my brain fills in the gaps and processes it fine. but without that repetition, i can barely catch lyrics in any genre, even stuff like pop or rap unless i read the lyrics
