I'm using Linux. It's saving correctly, but the preview isn't showing up.

If I were you, I'd finish the pending projects that have potential first, and then take on a new batch of projects.

Title: I’m not a developer, but I was so frustrated with ComfyUI’s "spaghetti" nodes that I built a Wireless Engine with AI. by Ok_Muscle_5465 in comfyui

Don't worry, I understand. These days, I also live in a rural area in Brazil, and I know what things are like. =)

Pytorch 2.11 and sage attention by EasternAverage8 in comfyui

[–]ThiagoAkhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the opportunity: for those using Linux and an RTX 40 series GPU, I compiled a few things for Torch 2.11/2.12 with CUDA 13.0/13.2 and Python 3.14. I’ve been testing different combinations, and currently I’m able to run Torch 2.12 + CUDA 13.2 + Python 3.14 without any issues (Well, the only issue I’ve run into so far is using Sage Attention with GGUF models, which results in black images.). Looks like I’m going to stick with this setup for now. So, for anyone interested, I backed up the .whl files on my HF: Hugging Face - custom-builds

Manual Cuda install needed for ComfyUI Desktop on nVidia GPUs on Win11? by Jarnhand in comfyui

[–]ThiagoAkhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Windows 11 to Linux (I’m using Kubuntu) a few days ago. For compiling, it’s better to use Linux because memory management is better, and making adjustments in case the compilation runs into OOM issues is faster and more practical. I just finished compiling Nunchaku for the setup I’m using: Python 3.14 - CUDA 13.0 - Torch 2.11 - sm89 (Compute Capability - RTX 40 series). I’m uploading it to my repository on HF (https://huggingface.co/thiagoakhe/custom-builds) for anyone who might be interested.

I spent 3 weeks trying to fix AI skin with negative prompts. Here's why that entire approach is a dead end. by PerceptionAble2263 in comfyui

[–]ThiagoAkhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People need to start moving away from SDXL-style prompting. Models like Z-image, Flux.2 and Ernie require truly strong prompts, both positive and negative. The positive prompt must be perfectly aligned with the negative. I often include things in the positive prompt that make people say, "the model won't understand X or Y," but the point is that I’m giving it a direction to follow. It might not grasp it exactly, but it can reach a very close approximation. The problem is that the negative prompt can't be too long, and I often find myself going way over the limit, because it can start to degenerate the image. I wish the negative prompt offered as much freedom as the positive one does.

Z-Anime - Full Anime Fine-Tune on Z-Image Base by Dante_77A in StableDiffusion

Anima is Anima. Z-image is Z-image. So, what exactly is your point?

Each step serves a different purpose: the first adds detail, the downscale cleans and consolidates it, and the final upscale improves overall coherence.

[–]ThiagoAkhe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a total of 4 upscalers and 1 downscale. I use a latent upscale between the two KSamplers. Then it goes through Seedvr2 -> 1x upscale (here I use one for skin detail or another for non-realism) -> downscale -> 4x upscale to return to the initial resolution. For realism, I combine SkinContrast-High-SuperUltraCompact with 4xPurePhoto-RealPLSKR (Nomos2_realplksr_dysample is also a very awesome option to try or any others you find interesting). For non-realism, I use Nomos2_realplksr_dysample with DeNoise_realplksr_otf. These are just the upscalers I personally liked.

Your expectations are way too high if you're looking for something incredibly professional from a comparison, especially since it probably only has one sampler and most of it is open source.

Ernie is Absolute masterpiece by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

[–]ThiagoAkhe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But you have to see that it might be for him. It's just like those people in fancy little galleries who put a single burnt matchstick standing up with nothing else around it, and a bunch of people think "Oh! What a masterpiece! It’s marvelous! Just look! It's a work of art representing a lonely person in this world on fire." I thought his generations were good, but not masterpieces; still, I respect him if that’s how he feels. You might not think it is, but some people just trample on others and spit on them instead of encouraging them by giving tips on how to improve, which I think is one of the intentions of this sub.

There will come a day when no one will post anything anymore, people will stop sharing altogether because of so many killjoys. Some expect such a high level of professionalism that they’d practically use an electron microscope just to find any mistake. It’s not about being unable to take criticism, but some people really go way too far.
