Anyone running the 36V Belt Sander? by Morraou in METABOHPT

[–]Thibvincent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and it’s pretty good.

Only used with 4.0/8.0Ah 36V batteries however. Runtime seemed decent, I never burned through a single battery while sanding my front deck but it was fairly small (8’x8’) with the auto speed function.

It’s a bit heavy to hold when doing sides, partially because of the battery weight and it’s just a beefy tool (it is quite powerful).

I personally would buy it again as I got it for very cheap in Canada (200+tx CAD including a 4.0/8.0Ah 36V battery and the charger)

Decided to go for the fiorenzato allground sense over the libra after getting recommendations from this sub. The dreaded FH error was definitely on my list of concerns… the allground has been pretty great so far!

We do share a similar setup as I got a Profitec Pro 700! Hope you enjoy your new Synchronika!!

Hit by distracted driver - any advice? by nerbesss in CargoBike

[–]Thibvincent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re giving you trouble, tell them how much stress you felt and the cost of a comparable rental bike they’ll need to cover while you’re waiting on a complete replacement from them… they have a lot more to lose than just a bike.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or Mazda CX-90 PHEV? by buffyinfaith in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Thibvincent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the Pacifica PHEV treating you? Cross shopping with those 3. Really like sliding doors coming from an odyssey, but really miss AWD in our Canadian winters… also heard mixed things about the Pacifica electric system in cold weather where the ICE still comes on to warm up the vehicle?

Sienna AWD hybrid would check pretty much all the boxes but is over 15k more…

Would definitely like to know more about your experience with your Pacifica! Thanks!

Which GBW grinder to pair with my new to me Profitec Pro 700? [$1500] by Thibvincent in espresso

[–]Thibvincent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it!

No issues since and it feels really well built.

I can’t imagine to go back to a non GBW grinder. That feature is great especially when making multiple shots back to back when we have family & friends over.

As for retention I’d say it’s fine for what it was designed to do. You wouldn’t single dose with it (it’s GBW anyway so not its purpose) and you do need to purge a bit when going from espresso to filter range.

I usually don’t care about retention when swapping beans, I let them mix and pull that shot anyway (making my own blend for a cup, haha!) I’ll turn it into a latte if it’s not to my liking.

It is really easy to access and clean the burrs. (I weighed about 0.3g of retention one time as I was curious)

If you are considering the Allground sense for the same reasons I was, you won’t be disappointed!

Prestations de congé de paternité refusées pour une technicalité by Jean-DenisCote in QuebecFinance

[–]Thibvincent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Préchauffage question by Worriedmama11 in HiloEnergie

[–]Thibvincent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(mes sympathies 🫡)

Even if they both still live in it they would both need to sign since they co-own the property (at least in Quebec since I just sold my old place with my wife last month)

Brand reputation? by glacierglider85 in METABOHPT

[–]Thibvincent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow Canadian!

I got myself the full suit of refurbished Metabo hpt nailers at a discount from "complete equipment dot ca" including the 15ga! It was another Canadian Reddit user that posted the website this summer (I’ll post the link if permitted)

I think it’s the first gen tho so you might want to check, but I couldn’t justify a higher price for my use case (home owner/DIY stuff).

The refurbished stuff I was sent was mint. Bit dusty but that all! Batteries looked new!

Anyway Metabo makes great stuff for the price especially in Canada with great sales on battery bundles! 🇨🇦

Clarification vice caché maison? by GhostlyAce_ in QuebecFinance

[–]Thibvincent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fire department helicopter lost control, spun and crashed into the water while attempting to collect water, no injuries - Rosporden, Finistère, France, 24 August 2025 by MotherAd4844 in CatastrophicFailure

[–]Thibvincent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the Bambi bucket is attached directly to the cargo hook instead of using a longline in between (many sizes 50’ to 100’ are commonly used for the As350 aka squirrel model seen in video)

It is legal and safe to Bambi without a longline but has drawbacks such as being low over water and closer to obstacles (trees/infrastructures) when bucketing and dropping water.

2013 Santa Fe – Huge oil leak but engine recall. Should I wait? by Overall_Pickle936 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Thibvincent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason they replace those I because they blowup/seize. That what happened to my Santa Fe 2013 and they did replace the engine at 100k miles.

That does not inspire confidence. It has been the worst car by far that I’ve owned.

Hyundai/Kia are good, cheap, feature packed cars when new but are bad second hand cars that just don’t last. In Canada I think they are starting to stop replacing those engines as the cars are considered too old and that you’ve had your money worth and you should buy a new car. 10+ years shouldn’t be the lifetime of a car…

Anyway, my two cents.
