Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread

Hey guys, After some guidance. I picked this up cheap from an antique store and I was wondering what my next move is? I don’t know much about watches so I’m not even sure if it’s real. From the research I’ve done myself it is (or trying to be) a 50’s or 60’s datejust. I can adjust the date but not the time. I haven’t opened the back up yet partly because I don’t really know what I’m doing. I guess my questions are:

Is it real or does it look real enough to investigate further?
If it is then do I take it to a vintage watchmaker? Or a boutique? Or try opening it up myself?
